Radial and rim for 900whp zl1

I currently have 750 whp and have the nitto55r2 on the stock rim and they are working good for me. I mostly do Highway pulls and go to the drag strip 2-4 times a year.

I'm going to get some mods done and I'm going to be in the 850-900 whp range. Is there a radial and rim that would work for highway cruising and the occasional drag strip that won't break my drive line?

Toyo R888R, Nitto555Rii, Goodyear Supercar 3R. First two are Ok in wet, but not the 3R. Stick with dry, warm surfaces.

Thanks, but I'm looking for something a little more aggressive.

17” wheel with 305/45/17 ET Street R’s if the main focus is straight line performance. Have to be cautious in the rain, but there’s always a trade off when it comes to tires.

Ok 17 in rim, I'm gonna look into it.

LOL, I gave you the best road course and best straight-ahead drag radials, but you want to be more aggressive! 1000+hp Lambos run the Toyos up here.

I tried the Mickey Street R's on 17" bead locks, last year and this year. but they wobbled like crazy at high speeds. But others have had good luck with them.

I have the nitto555r2 already . Has anyone tried the Mickey Street R's on 18" rims to reduce wobble?

Use the MT Street SS 305/45/17 if you want to drive on the street as well as track, R is just track. Well i mean you can drive the R on the street but its not a good idea

This is one of the areas that expose those that want to be fast/quick and will do what it takes and those that only think and talk like they want to. If you truly want to use all of the power you’re going to have to get a tire that isn’t great at everything. That’s just how it is. I went 1.32 60’ consistently on a 17” ET Street R with ~900 RWHP. If I knew then what I know now about tuning the 10L90 (along with my tuner), it would have been in the 1.2’s. If you want to make fewer sacrifices on the street but still want ok drag strip performance, get the MT S/S’s. There will never be one tire that does it all great for a RWD car.

Agree 100%.

I've got:

1. OEM 3R in the garage, which might have one track day left in them.
2. 4S for the inevitable any-kind-of-weather drive I have to make such as to my shop/ dyno.
3. R888R for the strip and the occasional short drive or dig.

I bet you’ll want to add another once the new blower is on. :-)

Yes, which is why I'm keeping my bead locks.

900 wheel... I'm def with the 17" wheel and et street r for any type of straight line racing. Ive auto crossed with my 17s and Rs. they werent the best but they did work.

As always, there are levels. With 900 wheel hp, your best best is to gave a drag pack and a street setup.

Ok , I have my made up my mind already with the rear wheel setup. For the fronts should I do a 18x5 rim or a 18x8.5? Keep in mind this is mostly for Highway pulls and a handful of dragstrip events. I will also run the front stock rims but once in a while I would like to use a smaller tire in the front .
