It all depends on the shop doing the work, how they track it in their system and such, and whether insurance gets involved to pay for the repair.

I use a really good dent guy. He is able to get dents out usually no matter where they are. Sometimes he has to pre-drill small holes in other panels to access the dent- that he plugs up after. Still better than leaving the dent and the plugs barely show.

I may have a shop that’s up to the task. Their a bit of a drive away and I will prob need other repairs just from driving that far on Michigan roads but it might be worth it. Lol

So update, found a guy to remove the dent and seems it’s no problem. I was
Surprised. But the only downfall is 400.00 bucks. He said he has to remove the interior door panel then remove the door mirror and the either get it from inside or outside whatever is best. Seems like a lot more work than on a flat panel but 400 seems like a lot for PDR? I dunno. What are your guys and gals thoughts? Do it or no?

If it was my Camaro I would leave it alone and not spend money to get the dent repaired but it’s your car Jay and you do what makes you feel good! I would say that $400 as compared to having a body shop repair it is the better way to go. A lot of body shops do use a PDR person to take dents out though especially if it’s not a major repair requiring paint and prep.

So spend $600 and get the door filled with bondo and repainted. Let us know how that works out....

Body shops don't report to CarFax.

I would pay the $400 easy. Door dings are the worst and well worth the cost of admission to get it fixed so I wouldn't have to look at it.

I think $400 is reasonable. I paid $175 for my Suburban, but if he had needed to take out the interior, it would have been a lot more.

Every insurance company will report based on having an appraisal done. Many body shops are authorized to provide appraisals for insurance purposes, and quite a few of them WILL report to CarFax.

Yea I had it done. It’s looks really good. I can still see a super small line by looking at it right up close but it’s like night and day difference. You could see it from 15 feet away before lol! Now the car officially has no visible dents which is what I prefer! I like keeping my stuff nice same as anyone. I would have blown the 400 on something else I didn’t need anyway so at least this keeps the value of my car up! Ha

Glad you got it fixed to your liking. I have one on the edge of my drivers side door I am thinking about having done. Only spot on the car so it bugs me.

Yea if it bothers you I say fix it. I mean what’s the point in owning a nice car if you are ok with it looking blown out lol! I like my stuff to be nice! People are quicker to call out the defects than they are to ignore them. especially when it comes time to sell!
