Anyone try the cid heads?

I dropped a valve awhile back and am just now starting to think about working on it. If I am reading this right you can get a set of cid heads from lme for under $4k with titanium intake valve, inconel exhaust valves, valve springs and cnc ported.

Curious if anyone is running them.

Looks like they are well over $5K configured the way you described:https://www.latemodelengines.com/ind...ads/cid-1.html

I need to call them. It isn’t 100% clear. It says the heads are priced assembled and if you click on details it lists the springs and valve material for the $3600 price. Then add the inconel ex valve and they takes it to $3950. The inconel exhaust valves are listed at $289. Seems like they would only be that cheap if they were an upgrade over the standard valve.

I do question that. Seems like a pretty fair price

Are you planning to modify your headers, you obviously have the skills, or take the easy way out with the Kooks cid specials?

I didn’t know they were any different. I better go do some more reading. I thought it was just the higher end eldebrock heads that moved the ports.

I thought the CID and Edelbrock Performer RPM heads were standard header location, and the Edelbrock Victor Jr heads had the relocated ports. But there’s a solid chance I’m confused as well.

I called lme. The price is with their port job but no valves or springs. The price did seem too good. Something like 4700 for the stainless hollow stem intake, inconel exhaust, springs. Something like $5300 with the titanium intake valves. Ports are in the stock locations.

Cid also sells them directly with their own cnc port job.
