Went out for milk, got green slime instead (Wife's new DD)
After I bought my F150 Platinum this May (the Crew cab with the baby V6 power stroke diesel that I love oh so much), I told the wifey that the next vehicle purchase would be to replace her 2014 Elantra base (which didn't even have bluetooth)...
At the time I figured I'd keep my SS 1LE Camaro for 2-3 more years and then upgrade to a used 911 or a used C8. I figured since the C8 was going mid-engine, it would have a new MSRP of $90k+ Well as luck would have it, MSRP was 59,995 and I put in an order for one... The wife did not forget my promise. So the last 3 months we had to look at cars and her main criteria was the car was GREEN - and not like dark forest green but like "****ING REALLY GREEN!" She had other criteria she liked, such as AWD, parking sensors, and I wanted adaptive cruise. The only car we could find that wasn't sports-car/exotic ish was a Golf R in the spektrum color program with a Cliff Green or similar paint... Except Spektrum cars are $45,xxx MSRP and every dealer we found had $1-3k markup and most wouldn't budge. Neither of us wanted to spend ~$50k on a Golf... So we debated wrapping a car, and waited and waited and nearly bought a couple cars (The 2016-2018 Energy green civic touring was a contender but the wife decided the car being a 4 door was important)... And then I found this thing for sale in Texas... I put a deposit on the car on Black Friday and it's on it's way here via truck.... It is a 2 owner 22k-mile 2016 Audi S3 Prestige with the Exclusive Package in Viper Green and the exclusive interior as well. One of 5 S3s in Viper Green. Every box checked - Black optics package (adaptive dampers, 19s, and black trim), exclusive interior pack, prestige trim, rear airbag pack, etc Original owner was the owner of Blair Automotive in TX and he threw a lot of cash at it over 2 years (and 15k miles) before selling it to a client 1.5 years and 7k miles ago.
