The 1LE is on junk Michelin tires, the whole test is basically void. What a waste of a good test. Also both cars should have been manual cars if you really wanted to compare.

I don't think anyone is arguing that point. This test to me shows where the Zl1 1LE stands. We pretty much knew the ZR1 would do what it does. I have a feeling the 1LE is going to reign supreme vs it's Ford and Dodge counterparts for a while to come.

ZR1 looks good right up until you compare it to a GT2RS or 720s... then left for DEAD

No. The run was on new set of the Goodyears. It was photographed with the other tires.

Everything is left for dead against the Space Force 720S.

I'm not sure what the LT5 addy would be, but assuming the current cost gap would be lighter if they moved it to a more mass type production vs what I understand is currently very hands on. Kinda makes one wonder what the time would be with an LT5 power plant...regardless, GM is setting the bar high & will be fun to see what the GT500 is going to be able to accomplish. Fun time to be an enthusiast. |

ZR-1 is just a smoother car all around. Just wait for the next mid engine car.

Given the Vette had the auto AND that it sounded like it was always in the power band, I wonder what the difference would be had the ZL1 had an auto as well? Perhaps less than the 3 seconds? The driver did a great job shifting so it's hard to say if it would have made much difference but who knows? While it was GREAT to see these two cars on the same track, same day, same driver, they both should have had the same type of transmission to really compare apples to apples. Well, then again, a ZR1 Vette vs a ZL1 Camaro isn't exactly 'apples to apples' to start with.

Actually for a fair comparison both cars should have the A10.
Yes you can argue the 1le thing but the original SS Camaro had a big block and the original Z28 a small block.
