The Cluster is locked by VIN# as far as I know. It will not work just by plugging in.

Still did not answer the question. Want to know if the OP tried it before it was programmed.

I was told by the guy OP recommend to program it that if you plug it in it can ruin it to where it can't be flashed. How I don't know. But I already purchased mine so I can do this upgrade.

Awesome upgrade conversion!!!!!! figured someone will do it at some point. and all that's needed afterwards is the radio 8 inch conversion???? that's awesome as well, because for some that's the precursor to using the PDR upgrade from Gen5DIY. two birds with one stone! congrats!

Good that you didn’t, that’s one sure way to set a bunch of odometer temper flags and brick a cluster.

Just bought my cluster on ebay for $120 as well. Been looking for the last few days. Now to get the programming done.

Did you buy the SS Cluster or the LT Enhanced Display? Because they are actually different part numbers and I'm guessing is why the SS could require reprogramming..

The LT Series has 3 clusters...the 7", 8", and LT Enhanced

So when you are saying the LT enhanced, is that the LT cluster with the additional gauges, like the boost gauge?

I bought the SS Cluster. I did see a 1LE Cluster on ebay that was $199. Didn't look any different, but I could be wrong.

I actually cancelled my purchase and got a refund. I was talking to the guy the OP had do his and he said it would have to be year specific. I had bought a 2017 SS cluster. I have a 16. Gonna try and find a 16 down the road. Ended up buying the New Xbox one x today instead of the display.

Wise choice lol....I'm trying to find a salvaged car with the LT Enhanced for "research" purposes because I was told the same thing but I find that hard to believe.
