Thanks for your help
You may need to reformat the card to FAT32, if it's not already...

So, if I walk into Best Buy what card should I buy?

Once, I buy it what do I need to do to it so it works? Format?

This! I'm 64 and technology challenged! I was using Harry's lap Timer on my Iphone in my previous track car and that was hard enough!

Is this what I want?

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sandisk-...=ref:212,loc:2

Then this?

Step 4: Format the SD card
In the Format window make sure that the correct File System is selected. It should be set to FAT32 for 32GB SD cards and EXFAT for 64GB SD cards.
Select Quick Format.
Click Start.
Once the formatting is complete, you can close the window.

You don't need to download anything on Windows, just use diskpart.
1. Go to Windows search and type "cmd"
2. Select command prompt
3. Type "diskpart.exe" (without quotes)
4. Accept prompt, if any
5. Type "list disk"
5. Find the SD card based on size
6. Type "select disk x" where x represents the number that corresponds to your SD card
7. Type "clean"
8. Type "create partition primary"
9. Type "format fs=fat32 quick"
10. Profit

This is only for SD cards equal to, or less than 32GB in size. There are utilities that allow you to bypass the windows fat32 format size limit, and EaseUs is one I'd recommend.

If you are using a MAC, here's a good go-by:

I'm using a 64GB SD card formatted using this method without issues.

You don't need any particular size SD card, the limit of FAT32 is 4TB, which isn't an option yet with SDHC's.

If you want super easy "remove from package and plug in", buy this Sandisk 32GB from Amazon, that's what I did.

-->Tomiboy: your link above is for a micro SD, which isn't the right size. You want a normal SD size, see my link.

Also just FYI, the biggest single file size for FAT32 is 4GB, so your video will be capped or split into another file at that recording size.....I'm just not sure what that translates to in terms of video length.

So will the 64 or 128GB card work as well?

I'm guessing size doesn't matter.

I have a 128GB SD Card formatted with a FAT32 file system. I'm hoping to be able to pickup my car in the next couple days.

I'll let you guys know how it works out if somebody else doesn't try it first.

OK.. I got this going with a 64 G card. I guess the reason GM calls for 32 gig cards is because they are already formatted Fat32. Anything larger is formatted exFat32 and you will need to change it to Fat32.

So as mentioned I downloaded EaseUS Partition manager but the 1st time I got the trial edition which goes through the motions but will not apply your changes unless you pay. So I backed up and got the free edition.

Here's a screenshot of the settings and key buttons. Just right click your SDCard (for me it was F) and select format.
Be careful not to get your C drive..

Just got back from Best Buy. Do you think this will work? It does not have a "10" on it. I talked to their tech support and he was sure it would work. I can take it back if need be. I realize that I will need to format it.

I can't test it as the car was just made on Wednesday and not yet shipped.

Attached is the sale receipt. Regular price of $269.99 on sale for $89.99. So I'm sharing this in case this works.

I think it will be perfect... after you re-format it.

Be sure and let us know.

This 128 GB card is a bit cheaper ($41) and it works fine once formatted to FAT32.

See the U with a 3 inside it? That's the symbol for UHS-3. You're more than good, it's overkill.
