Power tap location for Aerforce gauge 02 sensor kit and hole to outside

Need some assistance and I am sure there are people out there that have solved this stuff already.

Looking for:

1) An acceptable place to tap switched 12VDC for use with my Aeroforce 02 sensor kit near the drivers side kick panel
Found this so far: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=526208
https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showp...8&postcount=61
https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=523536
Is this our best option still?

2) Hole to pass 02 sensor harness to the outside world near the drivers side kick panel

Thanks!

Ok update...

Use the sound tube pass through cover to get wires through firewall. Drill a hole in it the size you need and plug it up to keep water out afterwards. This is how I passed my WBO2 cable through.

Do not use any of those options above for 12VDC power for a Wideband O2 sensor (too high current). Add a fuse to the fuse box and run power back through the sound tube plug.

That’s exactly what I did. Sorry I didn’t see your question earlier.

Can you do me a favor. With the car running, can you step out of the car with the key in your pocket and see through the window if your instrument cluster goes nuts?

Mine does, and I seem to have the same setup you do. I took power from the cig lighter outlet in the center console. Everything works perfectly until I step out of the car, while it's running, and the gauges go nuts.

Thanks. Are you powering your gauge from the obd port or from an ignition source?

gauge is powered by OBD2 port. WBO2 sensor kit is grounded at pin 5 of OBD2 (common ground to keep gauge accurate) and then ran a new positive connection from fuse box

Yeah, I have my gauge powered separately. I'm going to have to cut that power off then cause I think that's what's causing my problems. Thanks again.

Where did you have it connected? If you are going to the BCM wires above I found they caused more issues then they were worth with other systems acting funny if tapped.

Center console cig lighter port. It works perfectly fine, up until I open the door and step out with the key...lol.
