Camaro all day ...I drove several Vettes(C5 Z06&C6 GS &Z06) with the intent to buy a Vette and came home with a SS. Cost was not a factor...too me the 6th gen SS is more fun to drive and the low end torque is so much better then a LS3 or 7.

Interesting. I've driven the SS and I own a LS3 Corvette. And my Vette feels more torque-y than the SS did. Prob due to it being 600lbs lighter.

I would keep the corvettte convertible. You will so miss the top down fun and head turning compliments, plus make sure you do your research on 2016 first year production issues along with all the other typical Gen6 problems. They may make you forget your heavy steering issue real quick....

LT1 has 70ft lb more torque at 2k rpm. The LS3 is lazy under 3k rpm.

Well that is true but its more about 50lbs. Guess the weight plays the biggest roll. All I know is when I go WOT the Corvette def put me back in my seat more than the Camaro did.

Your likely just getting the itch for something different, happens to me every few years. Are you looking for a bump in performance, maybe a lightly used 6th Gen 1LE would work, how about a C6 Z06 their prices have really come down, they look great and perform fantastic.

very different driving experiences, the Camaro sits much higher.
LS2/3 vs LT1 even with the Camaro being heavier, I personally didn't feel much difference in my old LS3 C6. The LT1 is very torquey and it moves the Camaro out really well Interior and driving dynamics the new Camaro SS is excellent in the canyons, but overall I'd say the C6 is still a much more fun experience due to its seat position, plus the OP's C6 is a convertible. Entering a corner in a very low car like the C6 vs. a Camaro is just a different experience, even if the Camaro can do it just as well or faster. If this car is a weekend toy I'd stick with the Vette. If the car may see daily duty the Camaro is awesome. The rear seats are tiny but they're better than nothing. The LT1 noise and Camaro interior amenities are really nice to have IMO. |

I agree. I also went from a 09 Z06 to a 16 SS

Nobody has mentioned safety. The '16 SS likely has superior safety ratings vs the older Vette. Check IIHS.org to confirm. I know we don't necessarily buy sports cars for safety, but it is nice peace of mind to know the car you're driving is safer than another, older option, and just as fast (or faster in most cases). That's one of the many reasons I upgraded from a '07 MazdaSpeed3 to a new car.

A C6 isn't that old, yes it's a gen behind the 2016 Camaro, but it there isn't a big difference in safety from the C6 to the C7 or sixth gen Camaro.

6 of 0ne,half dozen of the other.both great cars although i would lean towards the vette.if you are just wanting something "new" get it professionally wrapped a different color or different wheels.at 43,000 miles the fun is far from over.

If you were moving into a 1LE SS or a ZL1 I would say yes. But that's a nice looking Vette and I wouldn't move into an ordinary SS.

I traded my 09 Corvette for a 17 Camaro 2ss. No real regrets. The 09 Vette is really an 05 (had one of those too!) with upgraded motor and tranny. But everything else is pretty much 05. Camaro sounds better, has backup camera, modern Nav and just more up to date in general. What I do miss about the Vette is being a member of the "brotherhood". I've owned 3 vettes and 7 camaros. With the camaros I never felt like I was part of something. I miss the "wave" from fellow vette owners
