We are hearing stuff from him like:
"Best high performance team in the business...this (ZL1) tore up the ring" "5th Gen ZL1 owners, start saving up, cuz this thing is a beast" "There are no words to describe what we will eventually share with everyone about the Camaro ZL1 performance, except Holy ________!!!!! ( fill in the blank here with appropriate expletive). Enjoy the torture of waiting. It will be worth it! I kid you not." I don't see him saying this without the news being top 20 at Nurburgring. We expect it to do well, so why all the hype if it isn't something big.

I know it's going to be fast. I also know I'll be in the market for one next year. As much as I want it to be faster than xyz car, and I'm sure it'll hold up very well, I don't really care as much. This thing will definitely be wicked fast. It's not a car you'll be able to reach limits on every day roads. A track will really be (mostly) the only place you can actually push this car to it's limits, and I'm sure I'll reach MY limit much sooner than the limitations of this ZL1 I absolutely cannot wait to experience that. |

Al owns a red 2015 Z28 he drove to Camaro Fest in Bowling Green. I do not remember the type of plates on the car.

After looking at the lap times on the Nurburgring site, the new zl1 must have beat the zr1 making it the fastest Gm vehicle offered for the track. That would make me ecstatic if I was the chief. Just speculation on my part. Regardless of the time or real horsepower number, the car looks great. Kudos to the team that put it together.

Those of us that are lucky enough to know Al, know that Al does NOT BS.
If Al says it, you can take it to the bank. Al is a very down to earth guy and is a Camaro fanatic through and through. |

He also said that people would be "pleasantly surprised" about the 6th Gen prices, that didn't quite pan out. |

Also people got spoiled with the prices of gen5's new and used. Dealerships doing massive incentives, the used market for it, even new ones are not new as in, gen6 is out which is the real new car etc. Does AO get the hype built up a bit? Of course but it isn't unprecedented. Quality and performance facts do not lie. |

But he hasn't ever really hyped something that wasn't grounded in reality. People's relative opinion, notwithstanding. That all said, the reason I said anything at all is because people like to interpret benign comments as some hidden gospel all the time, and apply their own opinions to it. I don't think this is a good time to do that. All we know for a fact is....the ZL1 is GOOD. VERY GOOD. According to Al: "Holy ________" |

It's like when Fbodfather promised a "big honkin V8" in '09 in the 5th gen when it was first being released, but then was only offered with the standard small block as expected.
