I bought the escort max 360 w/blend mount. I haven't hooked it up yet, so I'm guessing this post will absolutely not help you in any way, shape, or form.

Got an Escort 360 over black friday sale. It has saved me a few times but I noticed some cops drive around without radar on.

Real talk here. Pay up now with a quality high end unit or pay later with tickets. Go do it.

I'm a fan of the V1...that guy has lived & breathed radar his entire life.

I vote Escort Max 360...there's plenty of Radar Detector threads so look those up for the complete answers.

You have to learn how to read them, because you can still get hit with "instant-on" radar or laser if you're leading the pack. They're not fool-proof, but they substantially decrease the chances of getting a ticket. They have saved me several times. |

My wife and I both have Escort Max. I had a Escort 7500 for many years before the Max. I have been saved so many times. Like mentioned before, make sure you get a good one whatever you choose.

I ran a Valentine One (V1) in the Porsche I just sold, I run a V1 now on a Blendmount in the ZL1, and I run a V1 in my wife's modded 335i M-sport. I've invested quite a bit of coin on "the latest and greatest" radar detectors over the years, and the only one that beat the V1 (at least in my experience) was the built in Passport 9500ci in my previous Golf R APR Stage lll. Keep in mind, the built in units are more effective because they're built in the your front bumper and usually rear license plate frame. Cost with install was between $3-5k if I remember correctly. The built in unit was definitely the best unit I've owned, simply because building sensors into the front and rear of the car gives you the greatest range, plus it's completely concealed. Another plus to the built in units is that you have a radar jammer (this reads back false speeds when hit with a laser gun), which I'm 100% certain saved my a$$ numerous times (that Golf R was putting down 380hp to the wheels (AWD) and 365lbs of torque, carrying only about 2,900 lbs), as that car was very quick! It was limited only by the speed of my shifts, as it was a manual.
On a side note, I run Waze in both cars, 98% of the time I'm driving. V1 All the way, unless you plan to drop a few grand for a built in unit! I added a few cool pics of the Golf R, just for fun. The last pic shows the small 9500ci display. Also, notice my license plate. I run a similar plate on the ZL1 and BMW. It's essentially the last line of defense. In Arizona, you pay a bit more for these plates, but everyone knows that a portion of the additional proceeds goes to families of fallen officers. It's a great cause, and an additional layer of security...

Joining in on the necro-threadophilia, I bought a Uniden DFR9 for a mere $220, and it's serving me extremely well. A little shorter range than with the R3/R7 and no arrows, but that's pretty much the only difference and I didn't feel like dropping $700 on the R7.
This little brother of the R3 saved me 3-4 times already, so it has already paid for itself, it's very reliable and non-intrusive. Never had the V1, but even that is much more pricey, so I thought I'd live without the arrows. Oh, and the DFR9 has the jack on the right side, just where it's supposed to be.

I currently use the Uniden R3 in my Camaro and Truck. Looking at upgrading to the Uniden R7. Great range and features on both. And I highly suggest a Blendmount, regardless which one you get. I have those as well as hardwired my detector to the vehicle. Nice clean installs.
