ZL1 Camaro SS Brake Conversion.

Yup you read that right. I took these massive road race brakes off the car. I'm pleased to report the SS brakes fit like a glove. Direct fit. Why? Because no one makes a real drag wheel in an 18" or 20"

This front conversion allows for 17" front wheels. In particular weld rts 17x5. We weighed everything and car report that we took 21.7 lbs of weight off the front of the car. This does not include the weight savings from the drag wheels as well. I'll have more pics when the wheels show up.

Happy converting!

Do front wheels really make that much of a difference for cutting pad area by 50% or more ? For 1/4 mile at time crowd, brake fade is probably not major concern.

Yes they do. The lighter they are the better. You obviously need brakes to stop, but it's a one time use and then they sit and cool until the next round. Never had a brake fade issue on the strip.
