ZL1 1LE CAMBER ADJUSTMENTS

OK Guys, On the 1LE there is a street and track setting for camber. What GM Didn't tell us is there is an additional adjustment for camber. After ruining my new 3r's on my third track day with the car I found out how to adjust the camber.
I'm an experienced driver and just got the 1LE recently.

Anyway to get to the point first you have to buy a camber adjusting bolt from the dealer.
Here is a copy of how to do it. Hope this helps everyone.

Many Thanks To Ben the Mechanic who helped me with this.

Once the camber bolt is installed loosen the two red bolts to adjust camber and then re-tighten.
You can use a long extension and go between the rotor and wheel to adjust while aligning. You can see the hole if you look above the rotor through the wheel.

This has been the same since 2010 for 5th and 6th gen camaros for front camber adjustment. Any competent alignment tech should know this. And gm defiantly has had this listed in the service manual for about 10years now.

Yeah I am with ICTsccaCamaro. This is standard stuff. Also the camber adjusting bolt is just a standard bolt with the matching thread pitch that threads in and pushes on the knuckle.

I don’t get the camber bolt, it looks like if you tighten it, you push the knuckle away from the strut for positive camber.

You are correct, tighten the bolt to remove neg. camber and loose the bolt to add neg. camber.

You can adjust camber without that bolt. It just makes things a bit easier to dial in.

If you're an experienced driver, 3r's usually don't last more than 3-4 days on track. The fronts wear very quickly.... period.

Yes, front has the camber plates and the traditional strut adjustment as well. No bolts needed.

On my Gen5 I use a 10mmx1.5x30mm stainless set screw on each knuckle. I believe the thread size is the same for the Gen6. I do not know if the 30mm length would work on a Gen6. I leave mine in the knuckle with some Loctite.

You don't need a special bolt to adjust camber on this car my man. ALSO, the 3r's cord on the inside regardless. It is NOT an alignment issue. I'm starting to think there is some toe adjustment under load or something that destroys the tires. unfortunately, if you track this car get used to replacing tires. I only get 6-7 sessions per front set.

Or maybe it's just a heavy car and under corning load there's just a lot of load on the front outside tire. But what do I know, I don't track my vert.

Can't wait to see all the new c8 owners bitch about how fast there new cars eat back tires with the rear weight bias. <3 sec 0-60 comes at a price.

This. I've tried three different alignment settings and the tire wear is virtually unchanged.

Big, heavy car with a lot of weight on the nose - I guess it is to be expected.
