New 1LE Owner--what essentials to start with?

Hey guys! I just picked up a new 2018 SS 1LE last Wednesday, and I am in love. This car is an absolute dream. My questions are (please excuse me if this has been covered ad nausem) what should be my first "mods" or steps to take to protecting this car and making it just a little bit better.

I am reading a lot of threads on the wrap and care, and I am not sure how to handle. I am thinking of picking up some adams products with maybe a foam gun? If there is a general thread with taking care of the car that would be helpful. I have gone through pages and pages trying to navigate. I have not yet touched the car (its killing me not washing it) but I want to make certain that I start off on the right foot.

I am going to order the zl1 rock guards, because that seems like a census must have. If there is anything better then please let me know.

I have pdr so I am going to get a 32 gig scan disk sd card.

I was initially going to get a catch can as my first purchase, but I have been reading varying levels of support for them. I plan on keeping this car long term and just want to make sure I get the preventative things taken care of early on before doing some small modding.

I love this car as is and that is the only car I can say I have ever owned without immediately having a long check list of what I wanted to do.

If I am missing anything or should be doing anything different please let me know! I joined this forum years ago in 2012 when I bought a new LS. I really wanted to create a new username calling it dadmobile, as this is my dad car and my daily.

Bed the brakes.. change oil at 1500 miles and diff.people will say not needed...just do it..clear bra the front. If you track it max the front alignment at -2.4 and rear at -1.5. The dealer will tell you you are crazy.. change brake fluid to dot 4 and change trans fluid at 1500miles or so..

Congrats on yours as well! Not too far from me, being port saint lucie!

Yeah, you are right. I just haven't put on a nice coat of wax yet or anything, but here it is...the Dadmobile.

Thank you! I am glad you mentioned bedding the brakes. I was reading the manual and I saw that section. I have not done so yet, and I have 110 miles on it. Still go ahead and bed them when I can?

I was going to change the oil at mile 500 for the first time.

I would like to try out tracking it, because I have never done it before but not until it has a few thousand miles on it.

Why change the brake fluid to dot 4?

Thanks for the advice, and pointing me in the right directions!!

Looks awesome!! Yeah we are somewhat close, maybe 2-3 hours away. Not sure if you've ever been but Palm Beach International Raceway has a pretty nice road course. I would be totally interested if you decide to track it!

A quality cellphone holder. There is really no good spot to set your phone in the car otherwise. I got one made by proclip that clips beside the shifter on the passenger side. https://www.proclipusa.com/product/8...-console-mount

Also get some stick on "bubble" mirrors to help improve the side visibility.

I do use android auto. The center console is too small and I have other crap in there that I dont want scratching up my phone. If throwing your phone in the center console works for you thats cool. That cell phone holder is probably my favorite "mod" that Ill ever do to my car though.

If you position your side mirrors correctly, there is no need for bubble mirrors. Assuming you don't just have to look at the rear upper quarter panel of your car.

I can slowly let a car creep up from behind me and slowly let them pass me and at no point are they fully invisible.

If you have a 2SS, all the better with blind spot monitoring

If they are positioned properly, you should not see your rear quarter panel and the headlights at night of cars behind you are barely visible

Adam's Saude microfiber brush. A must to maintain the steeling wheel and knob.

They make a bunch of different custom molded ones that fit specific phones perfectly. I get a phone upgrade as part of my contract each year so I went with their "medium adjustable" mount. It fits my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 very well.
