Would love to have in the garage next to my 2022 ZL1. But all in my ZL1 Trail Boss, my wifes Acadia AT4 and our house don't match the $770k.

Well if your wife is ok living in it sell everything for a down payment…

That is a beautiful car but that price is nuts.

I was there with a friend (non car guy) and if you don't know your Camaros you wouldn't think it was special, after I clued him in and he seen what it brought price wise, still couldn't understand. I took very few pictures, should of got a few of that one. Did take a few of the new COPO

I agree. Absent winning the lottery a car like that is out of reach for me. I do hope to be able to build a 32 deuce coup with a United Pacific Industries body and a Coyote engine when I retire. Much less expensive and still a classic.

Super cool car and a deal compared to the last numbers matching 1969 ZL-1 Camaro that sold. That one went for just over $1,000,000.

Copo Camaros are Rare ... But that one was a Copo ZL1 which makes it more rare ... then add the fact that you were not allowed to add options to it but the last 18 built of the 69 you were allowed to add options to the order .. Not all did so that makes this even more Rare .... So the rich have nothing better to do but to pay silly prices to stroke their egos..... owning Cars like these that are Rare is like playing Hot Potato ..... You dont want to be the last one holding it when the bottom drops out of the people wanting to pay silly money for Rare and Numbers matching Cars

The COPO 9560s ordered by Gibb Chevrolet were obtained using the special order system required to build the high-performance models. 69 units of the racing car were built in 1969. The COPO Camaro was built with an exotic aluminum block 427 engine with 425 horsepower known as the ZL-1.

These cars were clocked at low 13s of the showroom floor. Ironically they could be made to go into the 11s with slicks, timing and carburetor adjustments.

"430"hp was their rating. Similar to the L88, it was an attempt to get under the insurance radar with the "top hp" engine being the L71 427/435hp tri power engine. Unlike the L88, the ZL-1 was an all aluminum engine compared to the L88 iron block, aluminum head combination.

As for the "hot potato" I don't believe that the prices will fall out any time soon, especially with the push for EVs. I believe the ultra rare collector internal combustion vehicles like this will only increase in value because they will be even more special to own.

This - Horse racing exists today - and winning breeds are worth huge money, even though Horses are far from anything fast by today's standards.
