iPod
I have a 2017 ZL1 with the older infotainment system and a 2021 Blazer with the newer infotainment system that appears to be the same system as on newer Camaro.
My ten year old iPod works in the ZL1 but does not work in the Blazer. My friend brought by two newer iPods and neither work in the Blazer. Does anyone know why this is the case? Didn't ask on the Blazer forum due to minimal traffic there. |

I don't have a new Blazer but I did get my mother a new Trailblazer. Not sure if the infotainment is the same or not, however, I noticed that anytime a new USB drive was introduced I had to go through the infotainment system to directly look at the connected drive. Once the USB was recognized it would remember it and sync/play immediately every time after.
Perhaps treat the Ipod as a USB drive and go through the infotainment system to read the mass storage device. Hopefully once it reads it and recognizes it it will work anytime you connect it thereafter. While not a perfect solution (and annoying if you have multiple USB drives) it may solve your problem. |
