It always amazes me when people want everything & the kitchen sink on the 6th gen 1LE, when in reality its never been much more than a pretty basic performance pack.
I never said it had to be $3500 but other than the 6 pot brakes, if we get rid of the dry sump LT1, what did my list have that the current 1LE doesn't? Even the brakes are already in the parts bin. The CTS-V has them, and as we have been told, platform sharing makes upgrades like this cheaper. So make it $4500 to get some 6 piston brakes and two piece rotors. I think that's pretty reasonable, considering the SS already has the MN6 trans that the 1LE included.

Didn't the original 1LE come with suspension and brake upgrades?

you see im not trying to say the 1LE is useless package but im saying that we don't have 1LE this time INSTEAD we have all the options in the 1LE package by itself. For example I hate the matte hood but I want all the performance goodies that come with it so I choose MRC, GFX and 6 piston brembos without having to deal with the hood this time

The MRC is not the same as the 1LE suspension. The MRC allows a street set up to perform better, but if it was as good as a track suspension, the Z/28 had it.

Don't forget you are stuck with the staggered run flat tires, while the 1LE has some pretty good tires with all four corners being the same. Plus the different gearing, fuel pump upgrades, Alcantera wheel and shifter, and other suspension pieces.

The base car will always be more for street comfort than track performance. The 1LE takes it to a new level.

That's just a rumor started here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_sma...013-present.29

then perpetuated here:

http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f...-777hp-221633/

It seems everyone has picked up on that one thread and spread it around so much that it has become a "wiki" fact.

Yeah your right after all you drive a 1LE so know more about it.yes there is still some more space for modifications on the SS but maybe not as much as the 1LE did for the 5th gen.the 1LE absolutely worth the money for 5gen because your getting an SS with a different performance but for the 2016.... you check the 6 piston brakes,MRC and GFX and you have a Track worthy car(at least for me).well I don't know about cars as much as you guys do but I can't see any improvements for now maybe you guys have a better idea what the next 1LE might include.

The GFX do nothing to aid in performance. If anything the 1LE won't allow the option due to the extra weight they add.

Personally, I would pass on them regardless. They just look too tacky and tacked on to me.

Yeah the GFX is just for looks. Not for me either don't like the looks of them on the car.

Stiffer springs are not the same as on-the-fly adjustable shocks. Yes, they're both suspension upgrades ... but thats about where the similarities end.

The GFX kit probably does nothing for aerodynamics. Such kits are almost always for looks, not performance.

It always amazes me when people jump to conclusions. I never mentioned price, nor have I ever complained about the price of 6 gen Camaros.
