RS Package worth it on an LT1?

I am possibly ordering an LT1 soon and am torn over whether to add the RS package or not. I love the look of the tinted tail lights and from what I understand, the RS headlights are better than the stock ones. But since the LT1 already comes with 20 inch wheels, I don't know if tinted lights and RS badge are worth the over $1,000 upgrade. Can anyone with an LT1 shed some light on this? I'd love to hear opinions thanks in advance!

IMHO,

The point of a LT1 is to be a LT1... getting RS, and this and that - just get a 1 or 2 SS

If you really like the looks of the RS, then get that package. It'll still get you cheaper than an SS even with a few more options added to it, but that gap always closes. I personally wouldn't touch an LT1 without the package because the car looks too bland. But, some people may like it.

If you just want the tinted lights, it's a seperate package that is only a 600 dollar update if I can recall.

Always remember to get the car that you makes you want to look back at as you walk away to the grocery store.

You do know the RS package comes with more than just badging and dark tented tail lights right?

Here's everything included in that package, it does include a deck lid spoiler as well.

20" 5-split-spoke premium Gray-painted, machined-face, aluminum wheels on LT models
Signature LED lighting
Dark tint taillamps
Black front and rear bowtie emblems
RS-specific front grilles
Decklid-mounted lip spoiler on Coupe models (Stanchion spoiler standard on Convertible models)
Body-color fin-style antenna on 1LT, 2LT and LT1 Coupe (standard on 3LT Coupe and all Convertible models)

Also, you can swap out the wheels at no or minimal cost after adding the RS package. The carbon flash wheels only added an additional $100 to my MSRP.

Above anything, RS and Tech packages at minimum are worth it on the LT1 and keeps it still far from the SS base MSRP tag.

LT1 RS or Not

If I was going in for the LT1 I my options would be the new orange metallic or 21 cherry metallic, RS style spoiler and potentially a single black stripe down the middle. The standard 6 speed stick will be awesome on this car. If you go RS you may want to stretch a couple grand and get the 1 SS.

Skip the RS package and get the NPP exhaust instead!!!!

IMHO the only thing worth it on the RS package as the different headlights but even then the NPP exhaust is a much better buy.

Some of that is already stock with the LT1. My LT1 came with body color antenna and black front and rear bowties.

But back to the OP, just get what you want. To me, the RS package isn't worth it for the LT1. The only thing that's worthwhile for me is the dark tint taillights.

I had the dealer throw in the dark tails as part of the deal when I ordered it.

I don't understand why people ask these questions as only they can decide if it's worth it as they're the ones buying the car. Do you want to spend $1,000+ on some super ugly headlights and tinted tail lights? I wouldn't. Get the tech pack and a spoiler

I'm going to disagree with most here. Save as much as you can on your LT1 purchase so that you can immediately upgrade the biggest issue with the LT1: traction. The LT1 NEEDS wider rear wheels and a stickier tire, otherwise, full throttle below 60 mph will be useless.
