Lights added in the trunk

With the trunk divider up, the trunk light is blocked.
I bought some small LED lights designed for a motorcycle license plate, and installed them on each side of the trunk. I used small L brackets, trimming down one side, ran the wires through the trunk channel, and connected the wires to the wires going to the existing light. The L brackets were installed using toggle bolts, pushed into in the large hole in the trunk channel. This way, I didn't have to drill any holes. I am really pleased with the turnout.

Yeah it does kind of suck that the light is behind the mat. Im going to try this mod but im confused on what you wired it to. The trunk light or the taillight and what wire did you tap in to

More info: The L-brackets are common hardware store brackets.I just shortened one side.I connected the wires to the wires going to the trunk light.The light pops out easily, and there is enough play to expose the wires.I carefully stripped some of the insulation to get to the wires, however wire connectors that you just press on would work.The license plate LEDs came from amazon, but they are also available on ebay.

Honestly, the trunk in these things is so small I think I have opened it maybe a couple times in the last several months, what are you guys putting back there? a wallet and pack of gum?

I'm actually considering surrendering the space for a decent subwoofer, but I suppose there might be a time that I need the space for cargo. . .

I stash my laptop bag in the trunk on my daily commute. I also put a printer paper box back there to store little things (emergency water bottles, towel, phone battery and cable, reusable shopping bags, etc.) so they don't go sliding all over the place. I bought a small collapsible trunk organizer that I though would fit but it was too big.

The partition stays up 100% of the time... Plenty of "convertible days" here.

When I travel I put a suit bag (one of those that you hang your suits in and fold in half) under the top behind the divider. I also carry two folding chairs, the dogs collapsible playpen, and a cooler back there as well with the top down.

There is alot of room back there for a convertible. You just have to get creative in packing it in there.

Hi all, I am new to the forum and will be renting a camaro convertible for a road trip from LA!!! (WOHOO

!) just wondering if a suitcase with the dimension 30" x 20" x 12" would fit between the roof divider and the back (front) of the trunk! thanks in advance
