Well the issue with that is the cars stock do not have a atmosphere sensor in them stock. The ECU takes a sample of the MAP sensor when you first turn the ignition on and stores that information as the air pressure the entire time the car is on. Its not really a REAL boost number you see.

Now you can add a secondary MAP sensor and use it as a barometer sensor (DSX Baro Breakout Harness), but you should put it relatively near the air intake. What can happen there is that this sensor will see air pressure build / fall with vehicle speed. (I have this setup on my car - pressure can rise as much as 1-1.2lbs from 0 to 80mph. Again if the gauge is giving a boost number based on MAP minus the Baro sensor, you aren't getting a real accurate number.

On my car that has a BOV for the centrifugal S/C - the valve doesn't really close at the point at which atmosphere pressure is. On average, our pressure is 14.0-14.2 lbs, the valve tends to start closing at 10-11lbs on my MAP gauge as there is boost in the intake manifold.

I wish these gauges would allow a easier way to just integrate a real boost pressure

Yup, just got the update today and E% is now available. They sent me the test firmware before they make it available to general public.

Look at the bottom left PiD (green screen)

Other stuff that I now see activated (which weren't visible before are):
Gear selection
output shaft speed
auto-dimming
density altitude (is one of the patented PiD's from Banks)

Another thing that I learned in my time using the gauge is it actually screenshots parameters that trigger a "CEL" . This time I had a check light come one and when I did the diagnostics I can actually enter the code and it showed the PiD's that affect this...

Second picture you can see my CEL code had to with my STFT going to -40% this happened when I switched to 93oct and the car was still adjusting letting me know that this was nothing to worry about... I proceeded to clear the code (via same gauge) and on to my normal life...

Great feature and just love the way it looks.

Regarding updates, all it took was a simple download to a micro SD and that's it!!!! No sending in, no having to buy another gauge.... this will make the gauge never obsolete.

The 3rd picture is how the alerts pop up... super visible and at night brightness goes up for easy attention

This looks great! Adding the DA was a smart move by Banks too. Thanks for sharing! I’m definitely going to do these.

Yup this things screen just looks so good, not to mention I can setup as I want too.

These are my 2/3 screens right now: I can setup up to 5 in total with 2-8 PiD's visible at the same time

I must say that is very nice!. I definitely like the warnings you can setup on it. Do you know if it allows you to build any sort of custom alert like for example if you wanted to setup an alert if Fuel Pressure drops below a certain number but only if it's a WOT?

I actually thought about that since I'd like to set up one for fuel rail pressure under WOT just like you state but currently, it only lets setup 1 condition and that have a high and low alert but not 1 PID depending on another PID. What I did currently is I setup the low side to under 35psi before having this gauge in my logs I learned under 40psi is when my rail started dropping (that was before I installed the JMS BAP)

This is something I will bring up to them, maybe they can make it work. This gauge does a lot more complicated stuff so maybe it's just something that hasn't been brought up to them (just like E85 readings)

I’m assuming it’s the ZZP dual gauge pod:https://zzperformance.com/products/c...uge-pillar-pod

G2K, did you purchase the DataMonster or the SuperGauge? It appears both of them take an SD card. If that’s the case than I’d believe the firmware could be flashed in both. I don’t need the DataMonster because I log in HPT.

i still like my v3.. always hated gauge pods..

that being said.... the banks gauge looks really nice.

i wonder if you could get creative and make it like the v3 vent gauge, if you see how they made the v3 you could probably get most gauges to fit in there..

It comes with the original software from when they first created it or at least mine did. I updated mine right after installing it and then it worked no problem on my 2018 SS. Straight out of the box it didn’t have many of the features and was wonky in operation. Go to the banks site and get the latest software

My thoughts exactly. I also like the v3 but I want more data and the Banks gauge is capable. I’m going to purchase another vent and make it work like the v3. Here are the part numbers in case you don’t have them. My thought is to make the gauge work in the vent and also have a second vent if I want to go back to stock.
