I'm new to the 2019 ZL1. I traded my 2010 ZR1 for it. My question is on the ZR1 the TPMS saw the tire pressure was down and took away some of the car's functions. Is it the same with the ZL1?

I drop mine down to 18-20 pounds at the drag strip and the only issue I have is the low pressure light on the dash and an email from onstar telling me I have low pressures! If they only knew!!

Another option for rims are the Forgestars. Made by Weld but cheaper...even cheaper than the RaceStars. There are a few options. I did rear only and went with the 17 x 11. It's listed to fit the Vette C6 with a bolt circle of 5 x 120.65 instead of 5 x 120, but fits just fine. It's real close caliper to balancing weight clearance, but works. I too chose the 305/45/17 MT R. If it ever stops raining in the Midwest, will get it out to see how it performs...

If you buy those Drag Stars make sure you lightly grease the barrel of the Special Chevy lugs. Otherwise they are a PIA to get to torque. And I ma told the torque on these lugs should be 90-100 instead of the 140 Chevy recommended. More info in my build thread. But don't expect miracles with the DRs IF you can get a low 1.7 you are doing good. There is even a slight ZL1 A10 bog to protect that expensive diff.
I bought the 17" Forgestar F14 drag pak with MT 305/35/17 drag radials for my 2019 ZL1. I have the tires, but the wheels will be shipped in September hopefully. My question is do I need the TPMS in the wheels, which will be used at the drag strip only and then the street tires put back on.

You don't, I've been doing it for a year now... TPMS affect nothing on this car unless you don't want the light on. I, just like you only slip on the DR for the day of strip/Mexico and take them off after... In some cases I have gone to work full race mode for a couple of days (seats out and on DR) no problem whatsoever.

Can someone confirm the 17x10.5 race stars with a 305 45 17 fits a zl1 without any modifications? Figured the 10.5 vs the 9.5 would be better suited for a 305/45/17

Also, how does the height of that tire compare to a factory tire height?

^^^ those are sharp! 16s though if your going to brand a drag racing wheel and also offer smaller rear brakes, make them 15s.
