Bite the Bullet
After months of lurking and looking at how much fun the process could be, I've decided to order a 2016 Camaro. I rather enjoy it before the Chicago winter arrives so I do not plan to purchase it until Spring 2016. It looks to be a great experience and I cannot wait. My main question is once production ramps up, how long will it take for delivery? I plan to purchase the vehicle mid April, so when should I place the order if I want to receive it around that time.
Thanks, |

Awesome!!!!
It will most likely be 5-6 weeks depending on how the convertibles come online.

After initial ramp up, Dealers usually say about six weeks from order placed (2000) to dealership delivery and this is one of the few areas where they are close to being right.

My '15 1LE took 8.5 weeks from ordering to delivery BUT the plant was on summer shutdown for 3 weeks of that time.
Ordered on 6/10/15. Delivered to dealer on 8/10/15. Oshawa was shut down from 6/26/15 - 7/18/15. Like laborsmith says, once the plant is ramped up, quality is in check, and the shipping pipeline is full & humming, 6 weeks is a fair estimate. Just be absolutely sure your dealer has an allocation for your order otherwise you'll be waiting. And keep in mind that if any options you want are on constraint, that will stretch out the time, too.

Thanks for the heads up everyone. This will be my very first car on my own and that also made me lean towards ordering. I am looking at ordering a 1LT V6, auto trans, NPP, RS package, Technology package, and the illuminated front bowtie. I am debating on the Heavy-Duty Cooling and Brake Package. Will it even be worth it? I am also in a dilemma on deciding the color. I don't know if I want White, Garnett Red, Red Hot, Black, or Blue Velvet Metallic. I believe that Blue Velvet color is the least popular color IMO. However, it is one of my favorite colors and I don't think I will see it as often. I am no longer interested in Hyper Blue. I Feel like for every 5 I see at least 3 of them will be Hyper Blue.

You should be ok, nothing you stated should be constrained. I do see V8 orders being slow in being picked up but a V6 should not be a problem.
I hope you go ahead and do a customer (SRE) order. It is definitely something worth experiencing - I call it the greatest e-ticket ride an adult can take while staying in the USA. Laborsmith |

Yes. Program Pricing if available applies whe taking delivery, not when ordering. Once available it will be until the end of the model year and normally for the life of the vehicle's generation. As always, there have been exceptions.
