Clutch wear video on Youtube

I'm really impressed with the clutch wear on this guy's SS 1LE, especially after all the no lift shifts. He says he has 22K miles on it and it looks barely used

The no lift shift is a supported feature for track/drag use that AFAIK doesn't hurt the clutch at all, so I guess that aspect of little wear isn't surprising. The ECU cuts torque while you are shifting. I guess it just improves the torque response time compared to moving the accelerator pedal yourself.

Did you know if you leave from a dead stop don't touch the throttle and the car will maintain 1000rpm and will not stall...

Yes sir! I taught my daughter to drive a manual in my 1le because all she had to do is easily let off the clutch until moving then give little gas and off she went.

Is it necessary to turn on Rev Match to use NLS to its best?

Rev match is brilliant. I'm not sure why you wouldn't use it. No matter if it's tracking or day-to-day driving, it's better.

Rev match is different than NLS or launch control.

Saw the video also. Thought it was funny that in the previous video he swore the clutch was toast.

Yes indeed. I know that Rev match is a different thing than NLS.
My question was, if it is necessary to switch Rev Match on, in order to enable NLS to work as intended.

I do not think that you do.

NLS is automatic at WOT above the enable rpm, which is 5000 on the 1LE.
Rev match is selectable and unrelated to NLS, and works during up and down shifts.

Forgive my ignorance but I apparently don't get this properly. I tried in my 2018 SS 1LE today. Engine on at idle, dead stop, not touching gas, release clutch, car stalls. Are you saying that it should pull off and maintain 1000 RPM in that use case? I was replying to post #3 that indicates we can start off with no gas modulation.

Me too. I think people are saying u can get it moving with no gas and just release the clutch slow. The car will not keep the rpms up for u. At least what I have tried.

Do not touch the gas it will automatically maintain 1000rpm. Will not stall..if you slip the clutch the computer will close the tb and stall...
