Same price as Yok A052 almost exactly.

That said RE71RS in 295/35/18 work great for less $ and last longer than Yoks. They also just came out with 305/30/19.

We'll see how the Hoosiers do, but beating the REs and A052s is going to be tough. They are really good tires.

It's all relative, these are still cheaper than my 315 wide PS4S rears...

I've tried a lot of 200TW tires to include A052, NankangCRSV2, RE71RS, and our 220TW GYSC tires.

The CRSV2's are the fastest(on race tracks, not sure about autocross), very similar if not identical to Hoosier R7's around CMP. Both 315/30/18. These hoosier tires look slower than their R7 so I wouldn't bother personally. Will need to see where the dust settles once real people get these tires.

If that review above is accurate and these tires are half a second slower than the R7's I can guarantee you they won't be worth it, Nankang is still going to be better.

They are all (minus the SC3) within the noise depending on what car, track and weather they are used in. SC3 have much higher heat tolerance, so could be faster on a really hot day after a few laps.

Hoosier is saying they'll be faster than the competition, might be true in some cases and not others. Judging from the vid it's more an endurance tire than a TT/AX tire though, if so not really comparable to RE or A052. CRS is kinda in between, they seem to have a broad application but don't warm up fast enough on lighter cars. I wanted to try them in 335/18 square this year but they were sold out. A couple really fast drivers here have liked them.

CRSV2's are clearly better than A052's for me, I've used them back to back (with A052's being new and V2's being a few heat cycles in). For TT I will never buy A052's again. They are slower and it's not really within noise. Around mid ohio the 52's were clearly about .4 seconds slower per lap vs the CRSV2's. I used them back to back in 4 sessions.

Without a lap timer you wouldn't be able to tell but with my Aim2solo it's very clear. Pretty much every couple of corners I gain an extra red light on my timer.

Never tested RE71RS vs CRSV2's back to back so I can't comment on that. I bought the RE71RS once for rain but never really gave them an all out TT effort.

How are the sidewall stiffness of the CR-S v2 compared to the GY SC3?

I am getting the CRS-v2 for my 718 GT4 in a few weeks, and previously had the SC3's (but are vaporware in my stock sizes for 2 years now) and now am on AD09's (because they also have stiff sidewalls).

To date the best tire I have had on my car was the SC3 with the AD09's a close second. Both the OEM Cup 2's and Dunlop Maxx Sport Race II sucked IMO.

I guess it depends on how tall of a sidewall you are getting. I have them in 315/30/18 and I feel the sidewall is fairly stiff. I've always ran lower profile tires though so I've never felt like tire sidewalls have really ever been an issue for me. I've ran taller take off pirelli slick tires before and they have a tall softer sidewall but it honestly didn't make a big difference either. All that is to say that I don't think I'm particularly sensitive to soft sidewalls, so I am probably not the right person to ask. But to me I don't feel like the sidewalls of the Nankangs feel any worse or better than the SC3.

When driving different tires the largest noticeable difference is in lateral grip between tires and how well they hold up to heat. It's very noticeable how early you can get on throttle with some tires vs others. Slower tires will give front end push way easier than the faster tires.

Gotcha,

GT4 OEM tire size is 245/35/20 F and 295/30/20 R

I notice small changes on my car because is has very little rubber bushings in the whole chassis system, so small changes have a large impact. More so than any other sports car I have ever had.

Good to know though that the CR-S's are at least a stiff sidewall constructed tire.

Brand new tires are usually significantly slower than tires a few heat cycles in.

I'm not disputing your results or experiences. But if you look across different cars, drivers, venues and weather, the results may not be the same in every case.

RE sidewalls are so stiff it's nearly impossible to mount some commonly used pinched applications, even when only pinched a small amount. Slightly stretched is better anyways, but sometimes people are limited by rules.

Not in my experience. I also took both tires to Road America after Mid Ohio and the Nankang was still faster.(A052's had about 5 heat cycles on them at this point vs 10 nankang) It wasnt until the nankang was about 14 heat cycles in that the A052's started getting faster.
