P0137 and P2096 permanent codes

Had CSP Kooks headers, high flow cats (front only) and Borla S type exhaust installed on my 2020 ZL1 convertible today. Now getting permanent codes P0137 and P2096??? Is it normal to get codes on these cars after an install like this and then have them fixed via a tune? Installer did mention he could hear a very faint exhaust leak with a stethoscope where the high flow cat clamped to the headers. Could this be the source of the codes? Car is less responsive now :(

Yes, and particularly since you're supercharged, adding long tubes without a tune will lean you out a bit. You don't want to be lean with FI. You should be able to get away with normal driving but your fuel trims are likely whack and I'd avoid WOT. Get it tuned, the light will turn off. Permanent codes are there forever as far as I know. Maybe a dealer can reset them? I haven't gotten that far in my tuning process to know for sure yet, I have some permanent codes as well. Not that they bother me, but for the sake of OCD it would be nice to get rid of them.

No tune with those mods? That is probably why it feels less responsive. Don't cheap on a tune!

perhaps. it is an undertaking to remove codes after the fact. you need a competent, capable and willing tuner with a lot of connections. i remember we had to go on a witch hunt for a specific beta version of hpt that (at the time) was a few updates old. it honestly was a real pain in the ass.

but at the end of the day my fbo ethanol car could be scanned and had 0 codes.

Other than burning the eyes of a GM tech, which at this point my car will never see mechanic shop or dealer anyway, is there any reason we should care about stored permanent codes? Even if I sold the car as-is, and someone had the audacity to plug in a scanner before deciding to buy, they would only be met with my side-eye and a raised brow to the look of, you're really worried what codes are stored on this car my dude?

After camming my car, but before my tuner could come out, I had to start my car so I could move it out of the garage. Was getting new windows in the garage. That start up left me with 4 permanent codes. After tuning they wouldn't go away. Had them for two years. finally installed a new PCM do to another issue. Factory programmed new PCM with GM scanner/laptop. Then uploaded my HP Tuners file. Permanent codes gone , as well as the issue that made me replace the PCM.
