That's because they look so good. lol If my OE rims were 11" in the rear I would probably keep them for awhile and go with a 305 or 315. From a visual prospective I just think a 275 in the rear is not wide enough, and I don't think I can safely go any wider than a 285 on the OE 9.5" rim. |

To be fair, 1LE wheels are the probably the best looking OEM set on a Camaro.

For the record, I'm definitely *not* saying nothing else looks good, there are several worthy competitors, it's just that the SS 1LE wheels look astoundingly good and fit the body design extremely well.

Does anyone know if the rear drivers side wiring harness still needs to be relocated on the 2024's?
I think I'm sold on the 315/30/20's and the 275/35/20's. I wish they made the 1LE replica rims in 9.5" and 10.5", I like the look of a tire on the more narrow rim within its safe range. |

I think it's just by design with the wheel poke because the 285s don't really overhang the wheel, just slightly. I think 275's would be fine too. I went with Bridgestone Potenza Sport, Tirerack has "old" tires on sale which I snagged up for under $800 https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...formance%20Pkg

Have any SS/LT1 owners noticed a minor loss of straight line acceleration when switching to wider/heavier tire/rim combos? Assuming similar height tires as factory spec, the added MOI of heavier wheels has to have some affect on performance. On the other hand, maybe a wider 305 or 315 can hook on the street and foster faster acceleration due to traction control cutting power to a spinning 245 or 275.

Do you feel the car would be quicker in the 1/4 mile now ? Yes better traction, but also more rotational mass eating up power. And of course the added rotational mass of the wider/heavier fronts can only hinder straight-line acceleration. On paper the 1LE spec has to be slower in the 1/4 unless better traction can mitigate the higher MOI of all four wheels. At SS power levels, I don't see how a 1LE spec could win in a roll race as well. Don't get me wrong, I'm putting 315's on the back of my car, I don't care if it costs me a bit of acceleration or not, they look awesome ! lol. |

That's the same spec I'm about to order...275/35/20 and 315/30/20. I'm going with Atturo AZ850's, they are nearly identical in height to each other, and with factory spec tires. Every time I'm behind a 1LE with 305's, or a Wide Body Scat with 315's, I know the 275's have to go. lol |
