Flat, Satin or Gloss Black?
I am going to powder coat my old, original, RS 20" wheels. Should I do a "flat" black (no sheen at all) a 20% satin, a 60% satin or a full gloss?
Any ideas or examples you all could share? If I do a 60% satin I save about $80 because the place I go has a "black Friday" special. Here is a picture with the wheels that will be powder coated.

Even though it's more prone to scratching/hazing I think the full gloss would look better. That's what I'm going to do with my steelies, polish them up until they are at a high gloss & maybe paint the rings a brighter silver.

To me , flat black wheels look dirty with brake dust, high gloss!

I painted mine myself, so it may look slightly better with professional powdercoat. But I did mine gloss black. They need to be redone over the summer due to rock chips.

if you do a body kit in the future and dont go the body color you will have to do the kit the same black as the wheels.. i would do gloss for sure this way the kit can match the wheels good luck

I may be old school, but flat paint was called primer back in our day. Probably why I can't stand plasto-dip... anything.
Gloss or satin at best.

I have my harwood hood and ZL1 spoiler painted "Hot Rod Black"
I think it looks great, a lot of other people think it looks great and I love it.

Wheels are done. They were sand blasted and powder-coated. Went with the 60% gloss because they said full gloss will show a lot of slight imperfections, and the 60% was a good compromise between gloss and overall finish.
It ended up costing a bit more because the OEM wheels were powder coated which is a bit harder to get off than paint. I'll be picking them up this week and will post pictures.
