Hand built (in USA) Celestiq? Did they pull these out of China, or still hand-building them there as well?

Dang wonder how close that 7th gen design came before it was axed. Look at the bowtie on steering wheel and the shifter.

For now. They will need to cut costs and it will trickle. But kudos for doing it now, probably because they know they will sell every one of them with no discounts.

I'd bet good money CCSB will be the only available configuration.

That pic does show a decent height difference between what I assume is a Colorado W/T and a Canyon AT4X.

2023 Ranger mules have been seen with the long bed.. would be a real shame if they swapped like that.

A shame for like 3 people. I don't see many LBs around. Maybe with this 3rd gen they're encouraging a step up to full size where the real money is if you need a bigger bed. We know they'd rather get you in a Silverado where they can balloon the profit margins. We haven't seen anything except a CCSB in all spy shots to date, by far the highest 2nd gen percentage take rate.

As one of those 3 people, it may drive me to Ford if they do their 2023 redesign right and have a long bed. Assuming the twins end up CCSB-only, I'm sure the GM bean counters decided that it was the best move, but I think it is regressive if every single one of their competitors offer it. I am all for GM offering equivalent or superior options than the competition.

Ford's bean counters think there is a market for it to the point that they may offer it when their previous generation didn't have it.

I think you've got it. There isn't as much profit in the midsize segment (compared to full size) so they're cutting options (single config, single powertrain) to give buyers a nicer interior and all the tech the 2nd gens are missing. I am guessing they also looked at the take rate and found a high percentage of CCSB buyers. It's also difficult to get buyers to spend much over $40k in the segment as they tend to opt for full size as you get to high 40s into 50s. I will concede it's funny the Ranger will likely get multiple powertrains and body styles this go'round if the rumors are true.

GM will introduce the 2024 Blazer EV on Monday. If you can watch the reveal, it’ll be worth it. Lots of cool stuff going on there. Especially the Blazer EV SS. The visuals have already been released, but on Monday full specs and interior design will be provided. Good stuff.

Very good question. Usually the embargoed press releases are timed to release at the same time the reveal meetings start. The info I have is good for release at 10:30 pm on the 18th. Strange timing for a press conference. I’ll start a thread at 10:31.

If reservations open up after the press conferences, I’ll drop a coin on an SS.

Don't you have a reservation on a Lyriq?
