That's because the car had the GM intake installed without the included flash tune. The engine compensated the extra airflow by running pig rich.

That baseline tune looks really wonky.

Sounds to me like the OP baselined the car with GM intake (including GM "tune") and then did some sort of aftermarket tune and ran it again.

Sorry to gripe, but its pretty annoying when someone drops in here with data like this with very little information, leaving everyone to guess or assume. Give us the full details when you do this please.

With no real details, and a wonky dyno graph, this doesn't really add up to much someone can put a lot of faith in.

That said, if this is all true data, that means the car picked up 30 hp on a tune alone...which would be astonishing.

Sorry about that, first time poster. Future updates will be more detailed

so really the only thing we can compare this to with any other intake is to run whichever intake without ANY tune, then tune it, and recompare...

some on here are comparing the AFE intake without a tune to this one WITH a tune...

Now it's clear. It's a GMPP intake with stock tune results and a GMPP intake with Dyno tune results. I see no interest about those numbers despite that it's better with a tune than without ... It doesn't show the GMPP power increase that is the real question.

That's not how the ECM works. If everything is calibrated correctly the ECM will meter fuel for extra airflow just fine. It won't be rich. It won't be lean. It will be correct. The dotted line confirms the kit invalidates the stock MAF transfer function.

So that would explain why GM is putting a tune with the kit.
