Installed GM OEM Illuminated Bowtie: Loose Fit & Dim

I purchased the kit off from a reputable GM parts/accessory dealer that advertises on eBay, so I don’t feel as if I got a knock off or anything. It appeared to be a factory sealed OEM unit.

Anyhow...I drilled the 1 3/4” hole as it called for and did not exceed the outer line. I snapped it in place, but it is by no means a snug fit. In fact, it’s loose in my opinion. I can wiggle it slightly. I’m not certain, but when I drove it this evening it almost sounded like it was rattling. Has anyone had this problem? It’s an easy fix, I’m just disappointed that for the cost it isn’t 100% right.

Secondly...during the day, with the headlights activated, I could barely notice it’s on. I know that’s unimportant but when it reached nighttime...it still in my opinion was kinda on the dim side. I could definitely tell it was on, but it’s noticeably dimmer than the DRLs (LEDs under the headlights & the small horizontal strip below them). I wasn’t expecting it to be as bright as the headlights, but at least somewhat close to the DRLs. From pics I’ve seen on here...it seemed much brighter.

Mine is noticeably dimmer than the DRLs. That's just the way they are.
I've never tried to wiggle it so I dont know if it's loose, but it hasn't fallen off in three years.

Yes, it's the way it is, on both counts.

Dimmer than the DRL's, which is kind of the way I like it, these accents are supposed to be subtle IMO.

The inner section wiggles a millimeter to the left and right, unfortunately this much slack is how they are constructed.

Saw a white SS with one this weekend somewhere around Arlington and it was dim. Barely see it 10 cars away or so, but it looked cool as shit
