Best tires for daily driving\street use?
Can someone recommend me what they think the best tires out there are for street use? I do not plan on going on the track for awhile. I like to speed around town. I went to Costco for a quote and it was $1500! Am I naive or is that alot? Willing to spend that much if necessary, though. More concerned with performance over longevity. Also, if anyone has a good source to study tires, that would be appreciated too.

That sounds about right for a set of tires; you're not buying tires for a Fiesta, that's for sure. Tire Rack is always a solid resource for wheels and tires; most enthusiasts can benefit from reading their technical articles.
If you have no track ambitions, but still want a "max performance summer" tire, then consider the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. It's among the few tires available in the factory sizes. Of course if you're looking for something other than a max performance summer, there are other options.

Continental ExtremeContact DWS06, I purchased them at Tirebuyer.com for ~$850 delivered to one of their suggested installers. I then had to pay the installer $60 for mounting and balance. I find it very good for daily driver in all weather and the wear is very good. I fell very confident with the grip and cornering is still very good. They are also very quite.

life, cost, performance. pick 2, be realistic about what you will use the car for.
factory good years are awesome, cheap for the size, perform well on track but only last about 8-12k street miles with no track events. Michelin 4s' are a superior street tire to the good year, last longer, but are more expensive and wear really poorly with track use. if all you care about is life then get an all season. |

I forgot to add I really love tires with white font. Are goodyear's the only tires like that? Could I get the PILOT SPORT 4S with white font? It seems like those are my best option, but man, I am also after a certain aesthetic look.

I'm more of a Michelin fan, so I would agree that the new Pilot Sport 4S would be a great fit. The new Continental ExtremeContact Sport would also work very well for you. Nitto offers the NT555 G2, It will have similar performance and tread life ratings as the Michelin and Continental.

After looking and trying not to drop 1500 on tires I gave up and bit the bullet and got the Michelin ps4's. They are great so far, we had flash flooding last night on the way to work and where the Goodyear's would have sent me into the next lane the michelins tracked right through it.
