Auto Blip Install - note to others that might install

I purchased the auto-blip as a Father's day gift to myself and installed yesterday. As everyone had said it is a PIA to install because of the different body positions you need to get in to clip on the wire attachments.

All went well, until I got to the clutch pedal position clip (although a blind difficult remove; you can use a small flat head screw driver to remove the safety clip and connector). When examining the clip front; my white wire was in position "C" and not in position "A" (brownish wire). The directions call for you to attach a wire harness on position "A". I did a wire harness on both both "A" and "C" and called the Auto-blip Company and left a message.

Andres, from Auto-blip, called me back on Saturday afternoon to help me. FANTASTIC customer service. He spent time with me to determine which wire would be correct. In my case, it was position "C" and not "A". (And no I was not looking at the diagram incorrectly or backwards). When connecting to the "A" wire, the car would get a low engine power message (limp mode) on the screen basically messing with the sensors.

Once connected to the "C" position (white wire), no error messages, and after programming the unit; it worked as described.

So for anyone else installing, you might encounter this situation.

Again, Andres from Auto-blip was great to work with...

Looking forward to trying the auto-blip out.

Johnny

Oops forgot to attach this pic

Here's a pic I sent to Andres to confirm white wire was in position C. Difficult to tell wire colors from this pic - but it was in position C - the left position.

Similar experience

I had a similiar experience where I ran into difficulty installing and left a vm for the customer service number listed on the website. The owner Adres called me back quickly too and helped me through my issue. The unit works awesome though on the track. Can’t count how many times this thing saved me from flat spotting my tires on the track.
I thought they were supposed to have some type of plug and play version by now that plugs into the OBD2 connection?

Sounds like a worthwhile addition. Having said that - am I the only one that thinks the stock gas pedal is too narrow for good heel-and-toe pedal work?

I wear a size 11 shoe and don’t have narrow feet, but I frequently miss blipping the throttle properly. I’m not a professional racer but I normally don’t have that issue.

I’m definitely going to get an aftermarket pedal set to narrow that gap, but if that doesn’t cut it, this mod is the obvious next step.

This may come off as a very dumb idea, but why not not just learn how to actually rev match your engine yourself? I do it most of the time when downshifting. With a little practice it becomes easy.

Not with this pedal setup. You'd need to change the pedal pads/pedals out to do it properly in these cars. That's what the pro racers have to do. This is far easier and guaranteed.

How much for the plugs and pins? I can wire it up myself.
