1st oil change, nice drive and glitter out! Pict.

Did my first oil change today at 950 miles with the elusive Mobil one 0w-40 esp and was able to go for a nice drive.
Recent rains (clean roads) and temps in the upper 40s today made it a treat for this time of year in New England!
Saw a convertible black Camaro with the top down and another black coupe.

Here is a picture of the bottom of my new drain pan showing the glitter. I think it mostly sits on the bottom of the cars oil pan as the oil filter I cut open didn’t show that much.
Next up is rear diff and tranny oil change.
Hoping we have a mild winter and early spring.

Congrats on your new Camaro!

I also did my first oil change at around 800km/500mi and saw the same thing. My second oil change was at 2400km/1500mi and no visible metal particles that time. Actually I've done my third oil change already at around 5000 km before putting it away for the winter. May seem a little ridiculous tbh. I'm just doing it as preventative maintenance, as I don't have the same factory warranty due to no real official Chevy dealer here. Also a DIY oil change and filter is about the same as a full tank of gas here.

Any reason for changing the manual gearbox oil and which oil are you going with?

I just like doing a change on new units to clean up anything that may be in there from initial wear. Using Redline D4 in the tranny but haven’t done it yet.

When I changed the rear diff, it was a nasty black mess.
