Cheap Front Facing Camera

I’ve been worried about hitting parking stops/curbs since the day I brought my Camaro home and for a while I resorted to backing into most parking spaces.

Then I came up with an idea on how to add an inexpensive forward facing camera so I could know when to stop pulling forward into a parking spot.

I put this video together overviewing the installation that I did of a simple front facing camera. The install was pretty easy and I think I spent about $50 on it.

I’m glad to answer any questions if anyone wants to give this a shot and needs some help.

Told myself I was done for alittle while buying stuff for the car, I was wrong. Ended up getting a borla s-type axle back. Prob going to get a mid pipe as well now that I got that part.

What i was trying to type is that we don't have winters like we did in the 1970's or 80's. It has warmed up so much just the last 9 years it is unreal. I was born in Tampa and lived here all my life. We used to see 19 to 24f year after year in the 1980's and now never get to 32f where i live anymore. The summertime pattern has changed also since the 70's with most of rain inland or toward the east coast and missing my area on the gulf.

This looks very cool! Could you please share the link to the camera from Amazon if possible? thanks.

Installed the zl1 add-ons rock guards. Fronts were easy. Rears... I wish i had just jacked up the car and took the wheels off. . But i didn't. Wasn't a pain till trying to get the bolts tight...then it was 1/8 turn at a time.

Probably attempt the exhaust this weekend.

When I first installed mine I did take the wheels off. But then I had to remove the rock guard later on to install new led side markers. I didn’t take the wheels off for that. I used a wrench to turn a phillips bit with. Wasn’t too bad

I did the opposite... I got the leds first then the following week the rock guards came in. Wish I had waited and saved some time

Got on a road with little traffic and let my new LT1 have at it for a fast WOT burst. Over 400 miles and it sure pops up to 90mph in a flash. Takes the curves about as good as my base 2013 C6 did. Car feels so much stronger than my 2019 C7 did.

Finally snagged some leather knee bolsters! Been watching eBay for 6 months for a set of black/grey stitch. and 80 bucks shipped! My 2LT was loaded with every option but still had the plastic pads for some reason. will post pics of inside once I get them!

Filled it up with Chevron Supreme today for $2.119. Can't beat that.

I also rolled over a mileage milestone. I was a few tenths away from the road with the 55 MPH speed limit when the odometer flipped over. Close...

Darn, you were sooo close. 5th gear and cruise control on 55, too. And yeah, even the speed limit!
