Dang OP! Sorry to hear that. I'm am a new car dealer service advisor and that is always a nightmare of a job on most vehicles. My son is a GM tech at a local dealer and they're always doing lifters/cams/heads on the trucks. It sucks that we Americans can't seem to build a solid engine/transmission. Ford and Chrysler are no different.

Are you sure those total track miles are correct? That works out to 250 miles per track day. At VIR I manage to do about 9 or so laps in a typical 25 min session, with 4 sessions a day. That works out to about 119 miles per track day, call it 125 if we count 1/2 the final lap before cool down procedures.

Looks like you're right, I was taking a guess based off my mileage and how little I've driven on the road. But I guess break in miles + miles to and from the track before I had the trailer added up.

It's about 2500 track miles for me. I think this season I'm going to track hours though, it makes more sense to do it that way especially with 18" rims, the miles won't be that accurate anymore.

23k miles on my 18 SS 1LE with 5 years of autocrosses and about 20 track days. 10 of those track days are 30 minute sessions in the morning and 30-60minute sessions in the afternoon. No engine issues. Very little oil in the catch can and very little oil consumption, maybe half a quart on 3k miles. Car is really only driven on the street to go to the track or autocross.

I don’t think this counts - but 3 Geo Metro engines. Those were dark days in my car ownership history.

Hmm, interesting to hear that. Mine also catches less than I had expected, especially now with the cam and new forged internals. But yeah, whatever sludge does get caught is better in the can than in the engine.
