FBO dyno results

Alright guys, today was finally the day, my car got dynod. The numbers are super super low, he said his dyno reads 10-15% lower than a mustang dyno, but he just tells everyone 10% lower. So on that note, he said with a 10% gain it would be around 483. I got dynod here a year ago and it read really high, and now it reads really low, so idk. What do you guys think? It was done in 4th gear. First pic is original dyno, second one is from todays. First dyno I had a rotofab and sw axleback. Todays dyno is rotofab intake, soler performance ported zr1 tb, ported intake snout, prey ported intake manifold, velossatech big gulp, msd wires, kooks headers 1 7/8"with hi flo cats, secondary cat delete, flexfuel kit (hptuners was showing 77% alchohol content, and janetty tuned. They said it sounded great and felt like stock, meaning everything is working together well, and not causing any issues. In going to lsfest again in vegas, I'm gonna get dynod up there too as I did that this year too, to compare. Shop is efi solutions/horsepower connection, they work on the street outlaws cars sometimes, if anyone has seen that show.

Damn my LS1 FBO firebird makes that. Something isn't right I'd believe 480 if it displayed it. Turd dyno?

I’ll be curious to see what your trap speed is , dynos are so different one to another that it’s hard to judge Performance on just that information alone.

I assume you are a M6 trans? Dyno numbers don't mean much to me. I would rather Dyno low and run fast opposed to Dyno high and run slow.

Yes sir, I'm a manual guy. I guess, if people ask and I tell them that, they may underestimate me, lol. It just shocked me as everyone on here is usually near the 480's. Shouldnt the hp and torque be around the same, that's like a difference of around 30 ish?

I believe you’re probably close to your 483 number. However, I’d have to grab a 0-60 time to see how that compares or something similar. Did you compare times that way? If not, take that shock color out for a ride!

No, I tried today, too many snowbirds in town lol. I have a road I'll have to check out tomorrow and compare times good idea. Super quick dyno pull

https://youtu.be/ydjxCCt79lo

I was reading up about this dyno, and remembered the dyno guy saying if I did a correction factor of 1.1 it comes out to 485hp. So is that why the numbers could be so low, because of no correction factor?

Different dyno's produce different torque readings. There is only one dyno I would half ass trust and that is a Dynojet vs Dynojet comaprison with SAE correction if you are trying to compare to numbers. Anything else can be manipulated. Look what Motor Trend did with C8...they damn near broke the internet with that excessively high dyno reading that ended up being a error.

The bottom line is, if the fueling is correct, firing on all 8, able to take 28-30 degrees timing on Ethanol, and throttle isn't closing up top, then it's making the power it should regardless of a Dyno number.

if you did get a baseline dyno when your car is stock... the numbers are basically moot

Your numbers are consistent with mine. I have essentially the same mods and my car made 440 hp and 459 torque on a dynojet. My gains were 45 hp and 51 torque over baseline on the same dyno. I agree with the other responses, I think you should do some real world testing (racing) and see how your car performs now vs before.

Yes I put up my baseline dyno and after everything dyno. According to their dyno I only gained 18hp, that's why I'm so confused. Same dyno, same guy, temperature was actually about 20 degrees cooler on the last dyno run as well. Also, I'm a manual, so I should've been higher that most autos, but I'm lower. The car feels super fast, I feel that I just threw $200 down the toilet though as I wanted to see the before and after, which wasnt what I thought it was going to be.
