Distorted Heads Up Display After Replacing Windshield

While replacing my wiper blades the dealer cracked the windshield. When it was replaced I noticed the heads up display was a little distorted. Kind of stretched horizontally. I instantly noticed it but after a week I'm use to it. Is it worth complaining about? Is there a way to fix it? The dealer doesn't do the replacements themselves. Some guy in a beat up van came to my house and did it.

Your up late tonight discussing quality..... Make sure your dealer replaced it with a windshield designed for the HUD. Ive read on here that there is a difference in a HUD and non HUD windshield.

probably installed the wrong windshield. You need a Factory HUD windshield. I bet they installed the cheapest non hud they could. should have gone right to the dealer.

I can't even imagine the magnitude of ineptness that it would require to crack a windshield while changing wiper blades.

But yes, different glass.

As others have said, sounds like it was replaced with the wrong, non-HUD windshield. I know people who have replaced their windshields in their Corvettes & Camaros with non-HUD ones because it's cheaper. I've seen their displays and, although they all say the distortion is minor & worth the cost difference, from the ones I've seen, I'd make sure I got the right one ... the distortion is very noticeable and would irritate the heck out of me.

major differences between the two glass types and major cost, like double.

Call the glass company hack back and tell them they installed the wrong glass.

Sounds like they cheaped out on you. HUD windshields cost quite a bit more.

I did not go to the dealer. They don't do their own windshields.

Yes but you need to find out from the install company what wind shield they installed. ...dont settle for less then what you deserve. I bet the dealer doesn't even know there are 2 different windshields for your car.

If you took the time to make a post here. It means it bothers you. Take the time to call the installer.

I would of gone through the dealership for the part and then have them install it. I think you could possibly turn in your windshield for a core charge payment. I don't know though
