Track alignment and daily driving

I'm preparing my SS 1LE for the 1st summer track season. I'm planning to do track wheel alignment, as specified in GM High Performance Supplement.
How bad is it in terms of tire wear on the regular road? My Camaro is my daily driver plus a track car for weekends. -2 degrees of camber doesn't look like a lot to me.

-2.0 camber is not enough for aggressive track driving. I use the settings below with 38-40 PSI on my street tires to limit the wear effect of running alot of camber. TOE IN TOE OUT settings are whats MOST important because excessive TOE IN TOE OUT will hurt you the MOST with wear.

ON the track I run slicks with around 24 PSI pressure.

I have VORSHLAG camber plates and SPLPARTS rear Toe Rod so you MIGHT not be able to get this much camber if you dont have those parts installed,

My tire wear is good.

I run this same spec for my SS 1LE, about 4-5 track days a season, and about 5000 street miles. Outsides still wear faster than insides, so no worries about street use.

I’m at -2.6 on fronts and have the same experience. Great wear across the tread but outside shoulder goes first. I replace when they cord. At 15k miles now with approximately 20 track days.

Thank you! That clarifies a lot 😀
Even on stock alignment setting I see visible wear on the outside if the tire, while inside is like new.

Good stuff. -2.6 is more like it. Good thing the tires grip well all the way down to the cords!

The more negative camber is supposed to even it out, but seems like we can never have enough. I wish I could get -2.4 on the front, and -2 on the back. But not really possible on stock setup. Any little bit helps. But even so, I do t feel like I’m leaving too much thread left unused if I wear them down below the west bars on the outside.

If you are seeing outside wear on the street alignment, the track alignment may actually help even it out. I left mine on track for 2 years and ~12 track day. Tire wear was dead even. Granted I was a fairly novice track driver at the time.
