Locations for Placing Jack Stands when Jacking the Car

Does anyone have any photos or descriptions they could share on the use and placement of Jack stands when jacking up the car with a low-profile jack? I like to see this:

A. By Wheel.

B. By Front End.

C. By Rear End.

That is, the jack, puck and ZL1-Addons device will go on the jack at the jacking point for a given wheel or end of the car (TBD). Once the car is jacked up I want to place the jack stand somewhere for safety. Obviously, this cannot be the same jacking point as the jack is using. I have ESCO low profile Padded Jackstands and Wheel Chocks.

Thanks very much!

If you look closely you will see two pinch welds near every jack point. It’s in the owners manual. Up front, use the back weld to lift and the forward weld for your jack stand. Opposite in the rear. Chassis is super rigid so the entire side will raise when lifting. Same with front and rear. Love me some Alpha platform.

It’s easy to locate with ZL1 rockers as there are cutouts. Diagrams in the manual.

Never thought of lifting the entire side of the car to work on one wheel!

Thanks!

For more, head over to the maintenance section and search for "jack" or "jacking." Tons of good info over there.

Chassis is super rigid. Both wheels come up on side that is being lifted. A magnetic puck and fixed lift points make it a lot easier.

That rigidity is what makes your Camaros handling light years above the competition.

As long as you are lifting on the recommended points (pinch welds) as recommended by the manual, you are golden.

You could, but you would likely leave some oil in the pan that way. The drain is located off the rear central area of the pan. I lifted the front (when you lift the second side the rear will come back down to the ground). Used a jack stand on one side and one ZL1 addon jack safety stop for the other. Worked great.

I get how and where to jack the car up....what is not clear in photos and videos I've seen is how the jack stand cradle sits/rests on the pinch weld. The pinch welds are thin and straight and jack stands are sort of flattened out U shape. I have one set that has a notch in the bottom of the U that looks like it might be for using with pinch welds. This will be 1st time I have to lift and support the car.....Gonna be doing the Sema grille so I'll need to jack up the front and take the wheels off to get at all the bolts behind the bumper......... Nervous as hell

Yeah use the ZL1addon jack points. It gave me more clearance than just pucks did!
