Camaro SS MPG

No I didn't get one for the fuel mileage, but poking around this forum has led me to post this concern.

My Camaro has 750 miles on it.

Been mostly street driving.

The Chevy Remote Access app is saying my lifetime MPG is 12.

On some runs it is 10 MPG.

I have seen around the forum that most are getting, at the lowest 16MPG and others citing 21.

My Camaro will be going back to the dealer for a slew of things, including the install of a new convertible top, but is this something to be concerned about?

No, I am not gunning it (waiting until it hits 1,000 miles).

So, is this normal or is there something that is at issue.

Keep in mind I also own a Hummer Alpha which gets much better gas mileage than my Camaro. So, I have to wonder.

Thanks for any word of advice.

That does not sound right at all. Even after adding a ProCharger I am still getting 19-21 MPG unless I really get into it.

Definitely doesn't sound right. I can easily get 18MPG around town while having some fun.

My M6 SS averages low 20's. I don't drive it hard, but somewhat mixed.

I get 18-23 in mixed driving with a lot of stop-and-go commuting. Mostly 21 or so. My SS has almost 15k miles on it now, though.

What are you running for cold tire pressure?

All depends on your right foot and.... TRAFFIC.

Quite amazing gas mileage all considering.

That dash screen that shows you your average mpg over the last "x" miles (IIRC, you can configure how many, I use 50) is a fun one to have on display.

My tire pressure is roughly 36-37 all around as I write this.

This is per the Chevy app not a manual check.

I think the digital readouts are pretty accurate. Your tire pressures are NOT low, so it isn't that.

Your mpg definitely seems low unless your foot is always well into it.

You could try using a calculator and doing the math on your next tank, just to see how much that differs.

my stock 17ss M6 would get 18-24 on average, depending on the driving. A trip to the beach yielded almost 28.

Recently installed a whipple SC, LT4 injectors, HPFP and Roto-Fab CAI. That same trip to the beach still got 23 mpg.

I usually get around 20-21 mpg per tank mixed driving. But I filled up the tank then got 28 mpg on highway cruise and it was going up before I had to exit.

Oh and M6. No AFM.

Get out of the city and take a road trip. Once you're away from all the traffic lights, stop-go traffic, fill up, reset your all the numbers and see what you get at the end of the trip..... My daily trips are mostly highway. I'm averaging between 26 and 28 mpg's. I just cracked 2k miles on my '17SS. I know if I went on an extended trip, I'd get around 30 no problem if not more. If all I did was driving around town, I'm sure it'd be in the teens especially running the AC in this NC summer heat.

Almost 31 mpg over the last 100 Miles. Sweet spot seems to be about 1600 rpms and 72 mph. Wow. But, then, of course, one of my pals laughed and said, "bought a V8 and is concerned with mpg...!". I also have plenty of instances where I punch it and am getting 8 mpg.

Approximately 85% of my driving occurs on the highway, and I consistently average 24-25mpg.
