Good morning to all, just curious have there been any problems with slight window drop as the door opens and raises as it is closed. I hardly notice this yesterday during a lot trolling moment.

Never had a problem in either of my '13 2LS & 2LT or '17 50th. Haven't always been sure what the slight drop is for other than pressure when opening/closing the door, or a clearance allowing for the lower rubber insulation/seal around the top of the window.

In a car show, I was parked next to a 2012 Challenger Super Bee. For some reason, he started having issues with the passenger window drop not going back up after the door closed. He had so many electronics and lighting add-ons, I'd assume it was an electrical issue. He finally got it to go up a few hours later.

They are supposed to drop and raise as you open and close the door. Just like on the 5th gen Camaro and on some other cars. Because of how they are made/fit they have to do this.

If you're interested in the actual reason behind it, it's because the Camaro's have a frameless door (no frame above the window). The window indexes down when you open the door to allow the pressure to release when the door is shut, it then indexes back up to seal the window.

What I started to put. But went with my basic answer of "because that's how it's made" lol.

But yes. This is the technical why.

It's a nice feature, the lightest close of the door locks tightly. My Colorado on the other hand, if you don't close it with a little force, the door will be ajar.

good morning to all, ok i have to ask because I have driven trucks since 93. mostly z71s, what happened to cd players in the chevy cars. i'm still on the fence for the 50th ss/2lt, however neither has a cd. they both have 1 year xm.

Put your music on a flash drive and use one of the USB ports! It will hold more songs than you would ever get out of a CD player!

Yeah 2014 was last year most came with a CD player. It is odd. But I use my iPhone or a flash drive and I'm set.
