Did mine awhile back and watched all the videos. Yea they were helpful, but no one said anything about the metal clip that has the tie wrap around the wire harness attached to the back of the light. The first one was a bitch to get off while trying to hold the light and not scratch anything. So on the second one I just cut the tie wrap off. Oh and make sure you put painters tape on the bumper under the lights so you dont scratch the bumper. The lights are kind of tight, but don't be scared to pull on it after you take all the nots off the back of course. Another thing is be carefull not to drop the little nuts in the trunk. Here is a pic of mine and with the Diode Dynamics side markers. That's my son, we were taking grad pics that day.

Thanks everyone for the compliements, and others for replying with the info. I was a bit slow to get back to the boards.
I also have the smoked out diode dynamics side markers. So everything is matching now except the Red 1 on the ZL1 logos. At the moment I'm leaving those alone. My son and I did the install, Lethal Camaro videos were helpful also one other youtuber who showed how to properly disconnect the tail lights. Third brake light was really easy. Definitely would recommend a trim tool for removing the plugs. Also the third brake light has a sticky edge that is left behind so some stuff to remove the sticky material and a plastic knife is ideal. |

I installed the dark tail and brake lights last summer. When you figured in shipping, thatgmpartsguy.com had the best deal I found for both sets of lights.

Bring It

I went the old school route (ok fine, the cheap route) and used Night Shades.
I think they came out looking incredible for what they are. Though if given a choice I still think the 1LE swap outs look better.

Your tail light and wheel setup on black looks fantastic. I’ve been looking for another set of wheels just to have a backup set. I got my feelings hurt when I found a bunch of rock scratches on my OEM wheels and have had my eye on those exact HRE’s. The 1LE tail lights really bring it all together. Well done. Don’t be too surprised if you find out there’s a duplicate ZL1 in Alabama soon.
