Here's a vid of cold start. No revs. My neighbors will hate me enough already. It settles into a nice tone after about a minute

Also adjusted tips more to sit further in the car. Looks much better.

They replace the secondary cats which makes it louder, you can see how they rate the sound levels here:

I just installed the axel back dual single tip touring edition on my SS yesterday and love it! Definitely loud on cold start up but it settles down after it warms up. Plus in I few weeks it will be broke in and quiet down just a tad more. DynoSteve at the RDP store took care of me. Great exhaust system for the price!

I’m curious as to how the axleback track exhaust is louder than both resonated/non resonated catbacks, anybody have any ideas? Looking to go loud and axleback is much cheaper comparatively.

I'll see if I can get the log to see what's going on, but Blake is obv well versed, so if he said the throttle is closing, he knows what he's looking at. The system deletes your secondary cats, so unless you've deleted the primaries previously and turned the CELs off, it will still have the cats and COT is a setting as well that would need turned off. On my ZR1, it kicks in and takes the fuel from 12.5 to 11.5 AFR. So, seeing your AFR flat line all the way across, it certainly looks like the COT is off to me. Has the car been tuned as such? COT will show up as a little dip, but the AFR reflects the added fuel almost immediately, especially on our Mustang dyno since the pulls are lonnnnng. I think a 7th gear pull on the A10 is about 15 seconds if I recall, vs. about half of that in 6th; however, 7th is 1:1 for accurate readings. I would tend to agree with the above statement though, if the car is closing the throttle at a certain RPM, I doubt it's the intake either, it's most likely a flaw with the TB. Regardless, I'll take a look and see if I can help offer some insight. |

I didn’t notice the AFR in the posted graph.....and it is strange that it isn’t obvious that it richens up with the power dip.
That being said, my mustang load dyno graph both stock, and with 2nd cat delete catback has the identical dip, in the identical spot, and correlates exactly with the data for COT turning on. A tuner I know said every ZL1 he’s had on the dyno goes into COT on the stock file (but that tuner is kinda iffy). But my car certainly goes in COT no matter what on the dyno,...nothing to do with weather or heat soak either. |
