Just make sure you get a Manual if you get anything before 2019.

...and people still won't stop hating on the A8... it's actually pretty good, especially after a tune. OK, maybe not the best choice for those wanting to keep the warranty intact (although even then you can get flushes and new torque converters if your dealer is worth their salt), but the amount of flak is really disproportionate. Just my 2 cents'.

if you want a car to drive the 1LE is a solid choice. if you want storage, ride quality, and other generally female characteristics - buy a honda or something.

Got my son's flush Jan, 3, at 4550 mi. Now at 5100 and no return of shutter yet. Was told to bring it back if any problems. Great service by Tupelo, MS, dealer although we bought the car in West Point, MS. on a close-out.

10. I have eyes i can see what you can do with it and what you cant do with it. You dont buy a car like this as a family car. it is amazing. 455hp and 29mpg. this thing has plenty of room. i could fit enough groceries to eat for a month or take drive around the country. the rides not bad at all. rides better than anything iv had. what are people driving that think the ride is bad?

Full 1LE suspension, with BMR adjustable sway bars and links, GM aluminum cradle bushings, Hurst shifter with lighter reverse spring, TWM shifter knob, Tick level 1 transmission. I should have bought a ZL1

Solid 8.

Likes: Power, driving experience, the sporty sitting position.
Dislikes: Paint. Did I say paint? Paint. Getting in and out (the price you pay for sportiness), small trunk opening.

A 9.....

I got this as a toy, something with power, handling and braking.. and this delivers in spades....

Could somethings be better, yes. But given what I paid for this car, there is not a better bang for the buck out there. Whenever I get in the car, I find ways to make the trip longer just drive some more.

7/10 when I bought it.
8/10 when I added quality of life upgrades(skip shift Elim, ported TB, clutch extender, self powered subwoofer)
9/10 after I added zl1 Recaros. YES, the recaro seats make that much of a difference.
No 10 because nothings ever perfect. But this is the best car I've ever owned for its intended purpose.

I gave the car a 10/10 not because the car is perfect, rather the BEST car I have "ever owned".

I'm super late to the thread, but to date, it's the best car I've ever owned. As I approach it, or walk away from it, I can't help but to admire it. OK, that's just fluff. Full disclosure: I'm not one of those 'Consumer Reports' type buyers that rates every category with equal weight: In turn, I bought a sports car...to enjoy driving. In turn, I'll not pillory a sports car for not having the space, utility, or resale value of a Camry.

It has nifty as hell features, a comfortable yet purposeful cockpit, and its drivetrain and handling make it a superior road car...and yet, it does so with a level of refinement that even 10 months later, still astounds me: Yeah, it'll accelerate hard enough to give you a chest rush, and corner hard enough to near make your ears bleed, but even driven less "spiritedly", it feels just as great. The performance curve might be ( and is ) quite high, but the area under, or within the curve feels so danged great: That's the hidden secret advantage of this car.

You know it amazes me how the shudder comes on at such low mileage. Mine started doing it very slightly at 8700 miles, and seems to be getting slightly worse (10k miles now). Did GM test drive the prototypes for 500 miles and just call it good?

A guy a know works as an engineer for Buick, he tests the prototype cars for MONTHS on the road and give feedback. about any problems, And it's not just him, its a group of about 15 people.

I guess I'm confused that GM couldn't find ONE or TWO automatics that exhibited the shudder, since the shudder can even happen 500 miles after you drive off the dealer lot(or so I've heard).

Thanks HighIron.. also i guess I should have been more specific and asked SS 1LE owners because I have no intention of taking any chances with the A8.

7/10 because of A8 issues. If I had the A10, I reckon it would be 9.99/10
