Another great deal on Vented Caliper Pistons

For those that need a caliper rebuild anytime soon or looking to upgrade the pistons in the SS 1LE, ZL1, ZL1 1LE or the GM Performance 6-piston kit and any BCD equipped Camaro, Amazon has the OEM vented calipers from the C7 Corvette calipers for a great deal. You can get them slightly cheaper on Rock Auto, but not when you figure in shipping. $118 per caliper for the SS 1LE and $169 for the other fitments.

Interesting. I had the 19207043 part number saved for when I change out my stock pistons for vented. Do you know the differences between the two part numbers?

Hmmm... I don't know actually. I'll have to do more digging. I am showing both have fitment for the Grand Sport, Z06, etc. I'll have to do some more digging.

I am going to order both kits, and take measurements and compare.

I just ordered both kits. I will take measurements for each and list them. Until then I killed the link just in case it ends up being the wrong kit. Thanks for the heads up.

I checked out systems, the 23242510 number appears to be the most current / up to date.

The 19207043 number is more expensive from the dealer, but does not state what it goes to on my end. I checked the bigger Tahoe 6pot kit, and that is not a vented piston kit. Odd.

Thanks Zach! I updated the link again to the one I had. Both kits will be here on Friday the 10th. I'll report back on differences.

The 19207043 was used on the CCM brakes of the Z/28, C7 Vette and possibly other CCM variants. 23242510 was used on the iron C7 GS and ZO6 brakes. I'm not sure what the difference is between them.

Oh that's right. I remember hearing the 19207043 was the PN for CCM brakes. Now I'm super curious what the difference is. Luckily, FollowMyLine ordered both! Thanks for doing the legwork for us

Well, both kits arrived and I took some measurements for us. Now the question becomes, how deep are our caliper pistons. See attached images.

For those that can’t read my writing, it appears the aforementioned CCB kit has larger vents (2mm vs. 1mm) and are 2mm deeper (32mm vs. 30mm). It appears the diameter of each is the same, however the added 2mm of material also adds the additional weight.

Now the question remains, what is the difference between the caliper pistons on the SS 1LE, ZL1/ZL1 1LE and the cars equipped with the BCD kit…

Oh wow, the plot thickens. I was not expecting the differences in depth nor the different design in the vents.

Searching around I did find this post which is aligned with your findings: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showp...90&postcount=3

That post is from this thread: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showt...php?p=11188290

Awesome! So, looks like the kits are specific. The 23242510 kit is for the SS 1LE caliper and the 19207043 is for ZL1/ZL1 1LE/BCD. I'll update the initial post.
