New to Camaro, new to sizing

Hey all, just picked up my first Camaro. Found a left over 1LT in Riverside Blue with the 1LE package on it.

It comes with the 20 inch wheels wrapped in super sticky summer tires. I live here in Jersey City, NJ where the roads resemble the surface of the moon, rather than pavement. Potholes, debris, and just overall poor surface.

I was thinking of downsizing to 19's and bumping the sidewalls up 5mm to a new size of 245/45/19 and 275/40/19. Would that work fine with the front brakes? Also, how the hell do I figure out what offset that would work with the suspension and brakes on the 1LE?

If you are interested in a set of 20 1LE wheels and tires, let me know! I may also just go the easier route and switch tires to a non-runflat all season tire that may give me a bit more compliance and all season driveability.

Let me know your thoughts and I am very excited to join the Camaro family...loving the car so far...it's a hoot!

Check out the Apex wheels. They have some 19 in wheels that fit the Camaro.

Thank you so much. Their fitment guide is super helpful!

Found a set of 19x9.5 that I think would look great on the Riverside Blue 1LE that I have.

Question about square set up: would 19x9.5 +22 with 275/40/19 fit fine on the 1LT with 1LE package? Going down to 19, am I going to see a bit more fender gap? Is it going to look flush as I am hoping it would? Going from 245 to 275 up front and from 8.5 to 9.5 width wheel, any issues here?

Thanks all, your knowledge is always appreciated!

Yes, they'll fit just fine. You should have about 3/8" clearance from the inner of the front wheel to the strut body. 18" wheels will clear the SS 1LE brakes so no worries with the 19". WookWook has an LT with an Apex squared stance in the size you're asking about - 19x9.5 +22 w/ 275/40r19. I run a similar setup in 18x9.5 +22 w/ 265/45r18 at all four corners on my LS with the 1LE suspension and upgraded brakes. It's definitely a flush fit that looks nice and aggressive. The 275/40r19 is actually a couple millimeters larger in diameter than the stock 20" size so they'll fill the fender gap virtually the same. You can use willtheyfit.com to compare various wheel tire combos to the stock setup.

I ran the stock all-season tires my first two years with the car. They're fine for daily driving, but if you go that route for your tires they'll immediately become the weak link in your setup. Maybe consider a set of cheap snow tires for the 20s

Thanks for the info brother, its great. That's where my dilemma is...keep the 20's and just get some awesome summer tires in place of the stock runflats, and grab a set of winter wheels and tires. Or, just square it up, and run all seasons year round. Space is an issue for me which leans me towards 1 set of do-it-all. But also didn't buy a handling focused car only to have the handling be hindered by all seasons...

Time to keep scratching my head till I can deiced lol
