I painted the rear calipers using g2 caliper paint, but unfortunately the color didn't match close enough to the front for my liking. The paint lid pic is the g2 red next to the front calipers. The g2 paint is a dark red and the front kinda has an orange tint to it. I ended up just buying the factory '17 SS 1LE red calipers for the rear which matches a lot closer (but isn't exact).

I also chose to run new wires to the ECM for IAT2, the supercharger bypass, and the SCIAP sensor. In the end the IAT2 was probably all I really benefited from. I didn't end up using the SCIAP, but I went ahead and ran the wires in the harness just in case.
FYI, if you ever need to run new wires to the ECM, remove the face cover off the plug and feed the full length of the wires through the ECM plug. It works out much nicer than trying to run the wires from the engine to the plug. Last edited by travislambert; 10-06-2016 at 06:49 PM. |

When you install the heat exchanger the horn must be relocated. Here's a pic of the horn relocation bracket I made. It's a little trickier than it looks to get this just right where everything fits and the wires reach.

Unfortunately one GM part that wasn't available was the '17 ZL1 wiring harness. The LT1 and LT4 are more different than you might think. Anyway, I just got the wiring diagrams for the LT4 and made my own. Here's some pics.
BTW little cheap zip ties work excellent for holding the wires in place while wrapping the harness. And the Tesa 50126 wiring harness tape matches perfectly... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |

The dang fuel line is different too. The LT1 line routes over the top of the engine. This one runs right behind the supercharger.

The '17 ZL1 doesn't use a coolant reservoir which makes filling the supercharger coolant a nightmare without the very expensive Vac-N-Fill tool. My solution was to tape a funnel to the fill neck and use zip ties to push a 1/4 ratchet extension to open the valve. Then you just have to kick on the pump, wait, and add coolant as needed. It eventually allowed the air to bubble up through the funnel. Of course the with funnel full of coolant, when the air comes up the coolant goes down.

what about the dry sump for the engine oil? the z06 has a cannister to hold oil,did you have to retrofit that in somewhere?

Here are the brackets I made to mount the supercharger coolant pump. On the ZL1 the coolant pump hovers between the radiator and the drive belt on the driver's side. Since I used all factory hoses I wanted to mount mine in the same orientation. Unfortunately the ZL1 mount was not available so I had to make it.

Just checked myself into a retirement home so i can follow this thread intensely.
