6th Gen Blend door
I just purchased a 50th Anniversary SS, the car was a garage queen with only 4k miles, but I just noticed the passenger side only blows hot air when it should be cold. Both sides blow hot, and only the driver's side blows cold. The dealer looked it over and told me it was the blend door - I've done a lot of searching and can't find much info on 6th gen blend door issues - are they still as hard to fix as the 5th gens with the whole dash coming out / do they have the cheap work around the 5th gens had with cutting the plastic out? I pulled the carpet back and it looks a lot different than the 5th gens I've seen videos of and can't find any new info for it.

Two old threads on similar issue linked below. I think there is also a thread somewhere here with pictures of someone changing actuators.

I've found both of these threads but the first is about temp sensor locations, and the second is just a copy paste wall of text that describes how the AC works, i'm looking for actual information about replacing the blend door, there are zero videos on youtube for 6th gens, there is no posts on this forum that I can find with actual info about it. I can't even find it in the service manual. |

My service manual does not list the entire procedure.
Try a search in yours for "temperature valve actuator." There is one on the left and one on the right in the dual climate cars. |

You will need to remove many instrument panel parts to remove the HVAC Temperature Valve Actuator - Right Side (CJ2).

SSgtSS, does your repair manual show the steps for windshield defroster duct removal? Mine does not, or at least I can't find it.

Yes, PDF page 5,797 in Section 10-HVAC of the service manual.
