Good to see you out there! Happy to see someone running a v6 1LE. I thought about loaning you my tires for fun runs at the end of the day! But by then my car was packed up and it was just too damn hot to swap them again lol

See you next event!

Cool, it is a lot of fun even with the OE tires! I've run four autocrosses so far this year with mine and I came to the conclusion after #2 that the OE tires are just to damn hard to compete in BS if you have some good local competition. Which there are lots of here in Central Florida.

My last event earlier this month had 9 cars in BS and I finished 7th, there are usually at least 4 other guys and they are all running good 200TW tires.

It's not as hard as videos tend to make it look.

You will have walked the course a few times for a much better spatial awareness than you could ever get from somebody else's tunnel-vision-like video. You might have even drawn your own course map (that's a hint, even if pre-printed course maps are available).

And courses are designed such that when you exit each course feature you're pointed at least generally toward the next one. You won't be scanning the whole horizon looking for where the course goes.

You will never regret learning your car's limits esp at the speeds within an autox. Cost for value cannot be beat Imho.

If you watch you'll see a pointer cone (sideways) >∆ and the vertical.

So ∆< would mean your going around the left. Walk the course as many times as you need in the morning, ask for an instructor to ride with to help you around the first 2or3 times, and you'll be rocking that power on oversteer like a boss!

Hit cones, not curbs that's my motto!

him and I were talking to a C5 vette owner and the numbers arent that much different. I think it could be a decent bs car if someone does decides to campaine one nationally.

^ what he said. Though its a little down on power to weight then some of the other BS cars really question is do the brakes and susp make up for that? Amazing the difference is in times with only autox dedicated tires yeesh! Downside is I just don't have the money for a set of autox wheels and tires until tax return season (still need to buy a winter daily). So I'll have fun on stock rubber this year and focus on learning the car.

This is good news! And it's funny because talking to the C5/C6 Z06 guys that I run with up here the general consensus is the SS 1LE should be well out matched by the Zs. But after letting one of the quicker Z drivers take a few runs in my car it was clear that the 1LE in stock form (just with track alignment) is pretty close to prepped Zs!!! I still average 3-4 seconds off the pace of those guys and I know that's 90% my lack of experience but I still wonder how much better the car could be with a set of 19s and some RE71rs!

For the v8 19" will also help the gearing since our 2nd gear is so tall. Off past experience a good set of tires could get you .5 to 1 second
