Hey Red,
Have you swapped rotors yet? How are they looking? Some of the discussion on the FB group was related to the rotors cracking and not being able to handle the heat generated by the ZL1. Hence Essex coming out with a new 390mm kit to give a greater surface area for heat dissipation. Stock calipers fit under 18's, but it is VERY tight. Part of my consideration in the AP 372mm kit is to provide a bit more clearance. If the AP 390 is even slightly larger, even in caliper design, I doubt they would clear an 18" wheel. We will have to wait and find someone to test it before we know for sure.

Yeah.....as you know, our ZLE's are pretty hard on rotors, even these AP Racing J hooks. Here's what they look like right now, headed to Road Atlanta this weekend and will start with these, but have backup rings in the trailer if the heat checks turn into true cracks. Getting close to having these burned up. If they survive two days at RA South, I'll dispose of them b4 my next event. In thinking about my schedule last season, I think I have either 10 or 12 track days on these rotors. But I prioritize some big fast tracks on my calendar, so of those days at least 8 at RoadAmerica, Mid-Ohio, Road Atlanta. Had weather and new home issues that cut my track schedule short last year. I have 20 days on the calendar for 2020, even with a late start due to COVID, and I'm planning on needing two sets of rotors for the season. Can reuse the hats and the rings and new bolts are around $400 a side. Consumables.... With your continued upgrades on the car (awesome wing btw!) you are going to need some APs! Maybe the 390's will fit....but I sure like the clearance of the 372's and they stop like an anchor. Hopefully AP can give you some guidance on clearance soon. I think they have a 390mm setup for the Corvettes, maybe check that fitment template and/or call Essex. Those guys know their $hit about all things brakes! Hope that helps a bit. Take care and go fast! Todd

I run the following set up: Fronts - 18X11 ET+11 / Pirelli DH Scrubs 305/660/18 Rears - 18X12 ET+41 / Pirelli DH Scrubs 325/660/18 The wheels are BC Forged in factory offset but in 18's. I know some guys go with a square setup, but I'm not good with the compromise on rear tire size. I need every mm I can get on those rear slicks. The 305/645s in the pic were because my racing scrubs supplier was out of 660s for a bit. Even crack dealers run out of product at times. I don't know how they compare to stock wheels/tires, my OEMs have never seen the track. Tires are consumables and I like consuming racing scrubs at $125 a tires vs Goodyears at ???. I get two track days out of a set of scrubs - say 10 or 12 sessions - driven vary hard. Hope that info helps! Todd

Awesome! I'll look you up! 12+ hour haul for me, but it's an awesome track. Look forward to meeting you this weekend!

Best lap 2:28:84 Lap time limitation now is the driver Shooting for something in the 2:27s this season. I know where it is. I just need to trust the Force.

How many sets of pads have you gone through thus far (+/- 12 track days) and what do you expect for the 20 planned this year? If I can manage to make a 372 kit to work, nows the time to buy. I bet I can find a used kit out there from the folks going to 390.

So really then, you are in essence spending more money over time. $500 for pads, $1k for rings, each needed twice a year on average. That's about $3k more than I spend now ha. Gotta love stock pads and rotors... They just don't cut it w/ the added aero and tires. Wasn't happy with DTC70's either.
